Question - what makes a thing important?

People who don’t believe in god
- because we say it is. Or, a group of us say it is

People who do believe in god
- because something higher made it so.

How do you know it's from 'higher up' can you prove a god?  See how important proving a god is now?

I don't seem to have the mental dilemma you seem to have, let's look at it another way perhaps. What is morality?

I dont say i can prove god exists.  I believe god exists.  the reason i believe is due to personal religious experience ... one experience for example ...

I had been living in an unpleasant place for a long time - during this time i guess i would say i picked up something i would describe as a pretty dark spirit.  some people have used a term "negative entity attachment".

i knew it was there on me but was in the shadows sort of thing.  one night (in a dream??) it uncovered itself to me more fully - it told me it was going to consume me and act in my life through me.  some call it possession - its more serious than the word implies though ??  the entity was strong and i really had no defence (im understating this here).  in the last moments before it completely took over - in a last ditch effort i screamed out to jesus right before the end.  Jesus had never shown up, or acted in a convincing way before as i saw it ... so why would he now.  To me, he existed theoretically i guess.  on paper, i believed in him but i didn't know much more than that.

To my highest astonishment - he showed up.

I couldn't believe he showed up, nor could i believe the kindness or the love.  I understood in a tangible way goodness and truth.  He was completely good, completely kind, he loves people and i felt that - he was calm and without a flicker of anger.  not even for the demon.

The demon thing was gone.  the abyss type entity couldn't be around jesus.  I asked jesus "what was that thing??!!", jesus said "thats not for you".  I begged jesus not to go, as soon as he leaves, the thing will come back - jesus said "that thing wont come back".  I said its going to be waiting for me when i die to take me to awful horror (after ruining my life and everyone elses life around me - it had told me), jesus said "i'll be waiting for you when you die".  I said to jesus "the depths of my life, how am i supposed to carry on and live?", jesus said not to worry about it "just live your life".

Then i felt and understood peace like nothing i thought could be possible.  the love, kindness, warmth, joy, peace (absolutely everything is under complete control - we are all ok).  I've felt that i should try and give that feeling out to whoever i've been given.

I'll be honest, that all sounds like amateur fan fiction to me. I don't believe any of it.

So why haven’t you questioned the monster god that would design a dark spirit and set it loose on you? God bragged about how awesome it created the serpent in the garden. So don’t say it wouldn’t create a minimonster and torment you with it.

Were you age 3 to 8 at the time god fucked your head up with one of it creation? It would explain why you would be easily influenced by gods boogeyman.

Why do you guys alway think dreams are the reliable source of information?

Why do you need to cry to jesus for help when Jesus is just the son of the monster that created and sent the dark spirit to fuck with you?

i experienced quite intensely his kindness - he really is kind and loving, safe, secure ... he does want me to pass on that experience to others though.

my experience with jesus left me feeling that he isnt asking me to get people to believe me . he wants me to pass on what i felt - in actions.

So - i am to make people feel loved, joyful, secure, like they are at home ... they are to experience my warmth, kindness and love - if i can recreate that for them.

How could you possibly know all of that??? Your "Jesus wants me to do this" claim sounds like when I felt like I was on some mission from aliens, several years ago. But that was just psychosis.

You should look up the connection between god “experience” and Temporal Lobe Epolepsy.

“A 40-year-old man with history of temporal lobe epilepsy presented to the emergency department with hyperreligiosity after medication noncompliance. After medications were resumed, he returned to baseline. Many famous prophets are believed to have suffered epilepsy. Waxman and Geschwind described a group of traits in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy consisting of hyperreligiosity, hypergraphia, altered sexual behavior, aggressiveness, preoccupation with details, and circumstantiality. The incidence of religious experiences ranges from 0.3 to 3.1 percent in patients with epilepsy. Religious experiences can be ictal, interictal, or postictal. Treatment is aimed at the underlying seizure etiology.”

If there were a test that proves to you that you had a TLE seizure that explains your god experience would you still Believe?

I dont know. i dont understand it. I asked "what was that??" and i was just told "its not for you". It wasnt a complete answer, but something that i wouldn't understand anyway - nor is it something i am supposed to focus on yet.

Im not saying i know how it all fits together. Im saying i had this experience, and i feel it's important to give others what i felt that night - unless they tell me not to

from around 17yrs old to around 25???? i was around 24 - 25 when this experience happened

Yes - I experienced him and it's very easy to follow. you feel he's worth your while

dreams - generally not. but this convinced me this time.

he was my last resort after trying myself. to be honest - i thought all was lost and he wouldn't show.

I just know.  and if it's wrong - it's worth the risk.

Experience spiritual substances - like love, warmth, truth, beauty - and trust them.

Maybe i misunderstood his job for me - but i know something about him, that i know that if i am genuinely and sincerely trying, hes happy with that.

I do value what he is about though - love joy beaty truth and the like - so even if im wrong about his job for me, i want others to experience what i experienced
RE: [split] Are Questions About God Important?
@Confused-by-christianity

Well, truth has nothing to do with love or beauty. Truth has more to do with pain and suffering.

i dont think anything can ever make me willfully turn my back on that kindness, patience, love, goodness > with personhood
