No...as in no he can't do that as a president. Can he do that as the king of the rubes? Maybe...prison guards are a pretty maga set in my experience.

The president can only legally issue pardons for federal offenses. He's been convicted of state level crimes. If he's elected from prison, will the SCOTUS determine that he can issue state level pardons? Probably, but no one knows for sure.

Of course, Trump will never see the inside of the cell he deserves anyway, so it's a moot point.

In regard to the gun control issue brought up earlier, I'm a staunch believer in second amendment rights. I keep a loaded pistol at home. The problem is that because of the immorality and lack of love for one another people will continue to massacre innocent people including children. Because of this it's not a matter of if, but when people will have enough and we will loose this important right.

In 1776 the United States of America was far from being the first military power of the world. The idea back then was that the country wouldn’t even need an army. And citizens were given the right to take up arms against their government if they thought it was becoming too despotic.  That’s a characteristic of the US democracy that you don’t have so visibly in other old democracies.
 
Then there is the practical aspect: Most of the US is empty land. You don’t have such widespread areas of empty land when you fly over the older parts of the world. So what do you do is you are in a ranch in Arizona and law enforcement cannot arrive before an hour or so. So it’s good to have a rifle.
 
But don’t misunderstand me when I say this. Your grandfather’s double barrel rifle is (or has to be) largely enough for the issue I am talking about.

I shot with G-3 riffles. The gun is very heavy. It’s very loud and you can hurt you chin or your shoulder with it if you are not careful because it backfires a lot. But would I be able to shoot Donald Trump with it if I was on that rooftop instead of that kid? (20 years after shooting only a few times with the G-3 riffle)? The answer is yes.
 
A gun is a machine for killing. If you like toying with weapons you can collect sticks, camping knives, Samurai swords, nunchakus or whatever. Kids rarely hurt themselves with that kind of weapons + when you store it in your house you can be almost sure they won’t be used for mass murder of anything like that.
 
People are emotional beings. It’s easy for us to go insane especially if you are a teenager (that murderer is a teenager). After the death of some personalities like Elvis of Marilyn Monroe though drug overdose today we even have sleeping pills that are more user-friendly (It’s harder to overdose yourselves with newer drug in comparison to the same drugs in the 1960’s).

So as a foreigner I’m telling you: This is not really the logical thing to do. AR-15 is a war weapon. So everyone has their tradition. Therefore I’M talking about restriction and negotiation. As I said you don’t need that kind of firepower unless you are in Afghanistan / Sudan or some guerilla controlled area of South-America.
 
And no one is opposed to the usage as a sport. If that’s how you like to relax you can just go to the shooting club. Knock yourselves out and then leave the weapon in the shooting club and go on with your daily lives.
