Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Thursday he will not accept any agreements about Ukraine that do not include his country in talks.

Trump’s change of tack seemed to identify Putin as the only player that matters in ending the fighting and looked set to sideline Zelenskyy, as well as European governments, in any peace negotiations. The Ukrainian leader recently described that prospect as “very dangerous.”

It's almost as if he's unaware of the Munich Agreement. Locking a country out of discussions over its own fate sends a clear message to aggressors that it's open season. What peace in our time will Trump, folding to Kremlin demands, sate -- and more importantly, what Kremlin desires will remain unsated, and will Trump kowtow to those too?

Yes his every comment screams humanitarian, if he's acknowledging reality this might be a first though, as he's so devolved from reality I think your phrase cloud cuckoo land is very apropos, but no I am sure you're right, a narcissistic billionaire, with an egregious sense of entitlement, whose every motive is declared as nationalistic self interest, has the Ukrainian people's long-term best interests at heart. 

I think the west might have cause to regret not taking as stern a line as possible with Putin. Luckily we have no historical precedents of appeasing dictators ever going wrong.
