The only "persecution" christians get in the West is the fact that, in most countries, they can no longer push their bullshit on others in schools and other secular locations.

In the meantime, you might want to consider the fact that in Western nations (where most Christians actually do live) they are not merely protected from persecution, but are given favourable treatment at the expense of non-Christians.

It's amazing to me that Christians, who support and are supported by the omnipotent god they worship, should find themselves on the shit-end of the stick. Surely their faith and devotion to this utterly powerful being would be enough to shield them from worldly persecution; but no, somehow this god of theirs cannot shield them from any suffering.

At least in Catholicism God isn't supposed to prevent you from suffering.
