RE: More protests Against The Theocratic Regime in Iran
Leonardo, could you clarify what you mean about quantum principles as applied to economics? I am not familiar with that idea.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

At least 7 protesters have already lost their lives. The U.S. President Donald Trump is warning the regime against any brutal mass killing of the people who are struggling for democratic change in their country.

I believe That Iran has turned into the Venezuela of the Middle East in many ways. I think that it belongs more to the 1980’s or 1990’s than to the second quarter of the 21st century in terms of both the sociology of Iran and the political reality of the Middle-East.

Some say it will become another failed state if the Mullahs were to go. I don’t agree with that. There are plenty of educated people who can draft the constitution of a secular republic there. And the Shah in exile is also saying to assist the Iranian people in a transition to a more democratic regime.

What do you think about that?  Cool

There IS no ‘Shah in exile’.

Sure.

No.  You said to focus on what's really happening.  The mad king doesn't care about iranian protestors, he wanted to shoot american protesters.  He's threatening to invade by tweet.  Donald the Dove.

Given the number killed in the last wave of protests, I imagine the bar for U.S. action is relatively high, even limiting it to things like sanctions.

Mister Agenda:

That would be “The secret hand” that is mentioned by Adam Smith.

The Quran says “Keep doing the right thing (working hard, studying, engaging in positive action etc) and at some point there will be a consequence of all you constructive endeavor. And other religions have similar statements that were designed to remind us to keep doing the right thing no matter the circumstances.

I don’t know if this description is sufficient for you but there was no “Quantic element” in economics than why is it that all Marxist experiments have failed so miserably while all of these capitalistic powers continued to thrive during the 20th and 21st century? Smile

Brian Soddin Boru:

I’m talking about the Crown Prince in exile Reza Pahlavi.

The founder of the Dynasty (Reza Shah) was actually a good friend of our newly emerging Republic here. And he has many parallels with our Ataturk.

Still: It was the Brits who had convinced him to create a new dynasty instead of switching to a completely democratic regime. History has proved that this was a mistake. In fact Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (the last Shah in power) was seen as a very anti-democratic figure in his time. Left wing activists saw him as a pawn of the US in the Middle East.

/ I think it’s very important to know these things so that similar mistakes are not repeated in other places. Like Venezuela for instance.

Trump has just said he would not hand power to Maria Corona Machado (the true winner of the most recent elections in Venezuella).

He is sort of creating a new protectorate in Venezuela for the foreseeable future. I think this is a mistake (because of the above mentioned reason). I think power should go to the Venezuelan people as soon as possible Smile

Nudger:

Things are moving very fast. I woke up this morning and I learned he had removed Maduro in the 1989 Noriega fashion.

The move was rather lightning fast and very successful (with rather positive implications for the future). So even if Trump has many flaws. He is either well supported by his advisors or he is much smarter than what he would have us all believe Smile

He's an imbecile and you're simply admiring the efficiency with which he has blown his foot off.

@Leonardo17

I know who you’re talking about, but Reza Pahlavi is not the Shah. Following that, I don’t require a history lesson from you.

How can Machado be the ‘true winner’ of an election in which she wasn’t a candidate?

Yup, straight up snatched, with venezuela requesting a proof of life like we were some mexican kidnapping cartel.

There are no positive implications for a future where american kings can hereby declare seal team six to assassinate their political opponents or abduct the heads of state for not being sufficiently deferent.  Think this through.

If you believe that this will be good for venezuela, even, I've got a bridge in brooklyn to sell you.

The efficiency of the US military has no relation to the lobotomised individuals in the administration.

So you think that US fascist in chief violating another country sovereignty is a good thing? I wonder if you would cheer so if it would be yours country attacked in such way.
