Hell of a journey keeps getting better. Like I said I still attend church in support of my wife’s beliefs which I don’t mind doing because it is spent time together, however, I’ve always been able to read between the lines particularly in the worship songs they sing. 

Christian music is different from secular music because it is framed in such a way the lyrics seem intrusive to non believers. Christian music isn’t just music,  it worldview messaging A non believer hears lyrics that assume: 
God exist 
Jesus is lord
Humans are sinful
Salvation is needed 
Submission to divine authority is good 
Doubt is spiritual warfare. 
Christian morality is universal 
Christian music prescribes 
What you should believe 
How you should feel
Who you should worship 
What moral choices you make

Christian lyrics are intrusive
I surrender all
You are lord over my life
Break me, mold me, use me
Every knee will bow
I was blind but now I see 


Christian lyrics carry embedded values
Obedience
Submission
Sin and guilt 
Exclusivity ( only Jesus save) 
Evangelism (every tongue confesses 
Moral absolutism
