If there's no God, nothing is right or wrong
RE: If there's no God, nothing is right or wrong
An absence of objective morality isn't an absence of morality.

And where back to morality, it is about punishment and coercion. Banging Head On Desk

I don't believe any objective morality exists for the atheist. But even if it does, it's meaningless if I can evade it. Therefore, it's not an objective standard at all. Can you give me an example of any objective standard in the universe that doesn't need to be enforced?

I can. Alfredo sauce is objectively better than red sauce. There’s no need to enforce this.

You’re welcome.

Well, you’re just flat out wrong there. Thing is…what you’re actually referring to doesn’t need a god either. Here on earth we call it a kangaroo court. Where the objective truth of some law or charge is irrelevant, only whether some person or body is powerful enough to kill you for catching the charge.

You don’t have to steal, fir example, to be executed for theft…and you certainly don’t have to acknowledge the validity of the kangaroo court or want to be executed by them for them to put two in your head, throw you in a dumpster, and send your family a bill for the process.

That all sounds pretty bad to me, both practically and objectively speaking….
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Another word salad. No idea what any of that means.

You have not convinced me an objective morality can exist for you.

Nope, no word salad —just facts and reasoning all around, so it’s no surprise you don’t get it. Hehe

Who cares what you’re convinced of? He more than made his case, and your incredulity isn’t his problem.  Hehe

There’s no “for you” in an objective morality. That’s the whole point. If objective morality exists then it exists with or without a god. With or without our assent. If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t exist for you me gods or house cats.
