So please show some knowledge of the Bible and STOP!!! I have talked to them about it and they can not show me any where in scripture that a rapturing of the church is going to happen. It's really quite sad that people are so quick to jump into end times cults and proclaim the date the world ends. This is, however, an epic display of the power of stupidity within the human race. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. I do not believe anyone will kill themselves, but it is sad that people will go to great lengths to get attention. If crying would help it would be worth it, but alas this will not be the end of such things.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Well at least he's helping out the economy by purchasing advertising. I personally would love to have one of those posters after May 22. And also look at this bright side: He's advertising to probably millions of New Yorkers on the subway system another doomsday prophecy which won't come true, making those millions doubt even further what religious nuts say. He's doing Christianity more harm than we atheists ever could think of doing by proving our point that Christian nutjobs believe a lot of crazy things. It's not just that he's picked a date (from Harold Camping), but now he's added his own embellishment of a worldwide earthquake that will render the Earth uninhabitable. OK please show me where in the bible it says that would happen?
And if some religious nuts do kill themselves on May 22nd because their beliefs didn't come true, well then that's just Darwanism at work.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
IF this man really read the Bible he would know it says no man or angel shall no when the end will come. I wonder if he thinks God has changed his mind.

Nothing is your own except the few cubic centimeters inside your skull. - George Orwell
I've also brought that up to fundies who were telling me that the end was very near (back in 1992 or 1993 I believe), and they said, "Yes, but if you look at all the signs in the bible, they're all happening right now." At which I just rolled my eyes.
What fun would it be to live your life not only believing that the end of the world is going to happen very soon with great amounts of human suffering, death, and destruction, but to be happy that it was going to happen? I mean, the only thing these people look forward to is complete destruction of the world and the people who live on it. Sad, really.

Most Christians have never read the Bible. I once dated a Christian and took her to see the musical "Jesus Christ, Superstar". I had to explain the life of Jesus to her. Most Christians treat their faith like a software license agreement. They just click "I agree" without reading or understanding it.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist
I wish the world were ending on May 22nd...then I wouldn't have to sit my Security Testing & Advanced Cryptography exams.

With the bible many people are moved to spread the screwed-overness onto perfectly innocent bystanders.
