I forgive you Angel
I'll promise not to send you to burn in eternal damnation for that dispicable mistake!

Looks like our our conversation is over, Napoleon666 (since it seems none of us have anything else to say). It was a pleasure discussing with you.

Have a nice day. Smile

That's when you question the theist's nonbelief in leprechauns and unicorns, claiming that they are the source of all morality. As cliched as it may be, I typically point out the fact that they are nearly as atheistic as me, except that I simply go 'one god further'.

Hate is a very strong word. I don't hate all religious people but I hate what religion stands for, what it does to people and the world in general.
Religious people annoy me for all sorts of reasons.
What I do hate is overt practising of faith. I am not overtly atheist. My atheism only shows in my verbal contact with others, yet religious people parade their faith for all to see by way of their dress, appearance, use of things like crucifixes etc. and expect nothing but respect for doing so.
I hate the respect faith-heads think they deserve. As far as I am concerned they are deluded people and merit exactly the same respect other deluded people might expect.
I hate too the respect shown to religious figures i.e. priests, vicars etc. As far as I am concerned they are just doing a job like other workers, except theirs is a pretty useless one.
I hate how the " great and good " pay lip service to religion, whether they have faith or not.
I hate.....oh I'm gonna stop before I begin to hate religious people!
HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

I dont flaunt my atheism in normal life.

It normally doesnt come up, I dont go to church less than most people around here because next to no-one actually goes to church here.
We sometimes get street preachers and the occasional jehovahs witness, (we used to get mormons but they seem to have given up).

The only time I have been directly confronted by faith is by visiting americans.
A really nice canadian girl quizzed me asking what church I went too.
One chap I'd never met before came towards a friend of mine hand outstretched and asked 'are you sharp for the lord'? the first thing he said, whats with that!

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I think I might be starting to agree with you. The religious are brainless imbeciles. They are what holds the US back from eternal bliss, so to speak. Without these stupid, naive people, we would all be much happier and have much more freedom. I hate religion and the religious with all my heart. If you have to believe in that horse shit, don't flaunt it; just pray to your fictional deity in silence while you dismiss every ion of practicality there is in this world.
Trudging through endless religion one step at a time.

It's called freedom of Religion if you live in the states. Why should it matter to you if some person prayers or overly dresses for a church? One shouldn't hide what they believe If they believe it to be true.

Goddamn, oh wait, can I say that even though I'm an atheist. Anyway, didn't expect this thread to take off like this. Thanks for the the interesting comments. I'm not looking to stir up shit with these people. They're more than welcome to practice what the want as long as they leave me the hell alone. I really haven't had much of a problem with Mormons. The ones around here may stop and say something to you if they see you out but I've yet to have them come to my door. The people I have the biggest problem with are usually Catholics. Probably because I've seen the worst hypocrisy come from them at every level of their organization, yet I married a Catholic school teach. Maybe I just like to torture myself, who knows. Lately I just choose not to discuss religion. I somebody starts asking me I just simply let them no it doesn't interest me and leave it at that. If the push the issue then I tell them flat out that I don't wish to discuss it and it's none of their business. I'm not ashamed to believe how I do but I just flat out don't give enough of a fuck to justify my beliefs to other people, at least not in this case.

Whenever I see religious people promoting their hideously twisted rose-tinted version of reality, I just think... you're the reason all animals need to keep evolving.
