I'm beginning to hate religious people.

It doesn't. But when they start trying to pour their superstitions into our schools and laws because their fucking 'god' told them to then they have to be stopped.

Frankly....if the fuckers wanted to murder each other in their churches it wouldn't bother me. No great loss.

Am I alone in thinking everyone in this thread needs to be thoroughly tickled?

You do know you don't have to go to schools/work places that govern themselves by religious laws and upbringings.

You do know that there are many religious people that go out of their way campaigning for things like creationism to be taught side by side to evolution as though the two hold the same amount of weight as a scientific argument?

I'm guessing not.

You make a good point. But there are certain things I don't think can be true of Evolution. But I can't really say much as I don't have much knowledge of the subject.

What seems more comprehensible?

Option A: Billions of years ago, the first species crawled the Earth. Over millions of years, they gradually changed to suit their surroundings to become what we have today.

Option B: One day, a magic man in the sky thinks "I'm gonna create a universe!!" In seven days, we've got people, animals, trees, plants, etc.

I'll let you think about it for a while.
Trudging through endless religion one step at a time.

Brings to mind Statler Waldorf's Signature ...
Quote:Statler's Signature:
The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs.

AND YET despite this rant, he and his brothers-in-christ have NO PROBLEM selecting Option B. Ironic isn't it.

EDIT: I noticed on your profile Nitsuj, that you are attending Catholic school in the Bible Belt. I empathize your plight. I myself was kicked out of Bob Jones University down there in the belt. I can only say that it gets better. Slowly but surely ... freedom will come.

I find 'magic' is the term people use to explain how something they don't know how works works. Ie: Ask me ''How does a TV work?', and I will answer: 'Magic.'

Ask a TV-making person thingy... and they'll give you a different answer Heart

I think you should really research about evolution and get yourself educated if that is the case. I think it's absolutely bizarre that people think it is justifiable to try and teach creationism along side evolution, as though the two are remotely similar in terms of what scientific evidence they have.

I'm not trying to be condescending, but if you don't have much knowledge of what evolution entails then you certainly shouldn't be sticking up for creationism as though the two are comparable scientifically.
