Prayer ... SERIOUSLY?!

Is your god allowed to decide who he wants in heaven...say.....he wants a few atheists in heaven.

What have you to say about that?

I just exchanged a few posts on one of my videos (linked below) with a fundy where he argued that YHWH could not possibly change a rule he made in the first place. This is why YHWH had to kill his own son (who was also himself) in order to allow himself to forgive us for sins. You see, he made a rule that forgiveness is impossible unless something dies first. And he can't just arbitrarily change his own rules. I mean, what kind of god would he be then, huh?

Um, I'm willing to guess never. I tell you what, GC, let's do a scientific study on this. We'll give you two pieces of chicken for dinner, one with salmonella and one without. You pray over them and then eat them and we'll see if you get sick.

I was kinda hoping you'd respond to this one G-C.

Well, that would just prove how merciful God is. Anyway, it is said that people are saved of "every tribe, tongue or nation" (Rev 5:9).

Really?

John 3:16, God sacrificed himself to himself to save us from a place he made himself.

Gee, thanks for your mercy, god.

I really don't see how could you have reached the conclusion that God isn't merciful based on this.

I can though Heart

What would be far more merciful is to erase the whole of existence though... then none could feel pain as there would be no pain to feel and nothing left to feel it Tiger
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

True, I'd rather have never existed than play silly belief games that determine the destination of my eternal soul worrying about the off chance that I'd burn forever. But that's god's mercy and love for you.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
