My scart device is just an old VCR that I use to convert the av signals from various things such as my (old) pc, hard disk recorder etc. into a UHF signal that I can then send all over the house This way I can download a film for my Son, play it on the PC and he can watch it in his room. The new PC however, hasn't got a video out from its graphics card. I've looked for a Graphics card with both video and hdmi out but with no luck. Unless I can find a device like a Hard Disk Recorder that has an hdmi input and a scart output or even better a UHF output then I'm going to be mucking about with cables
I'm also wondering if it is possible to run two pc's from the same modem as then I wouldn't need to bother going wireless.
Does your modem have any network ports on it or is it USB only? If it has and is configured internally (rather than by software on the PC) then all you need is a network hub which you put in between modem/router and PC's ... job done. Of course you don't need a hub if the router has 2 ports for network.
If it's a USB only you ether have to buy a modem/router or set up internet Connection Sharing (which requires the sharing PC to be on when the other one wants to access the net).
I suppose in order to advise you I would need to know what modem/router you have and how you connect it. Got a model number?
EDIT: Ah ... I see you've said. USB.
You need to either buy a new modem/router or use ICS ... I'd suggest that ICS is by far the worse solution unless you have an ALWAYS ON system.
It won't cost much ... this one would do
ADSL WIRELESS ROUTER (£20) then all you need is a few network cables.
Alternatively you can wait until I get the [new or nearly new] Belkin modem/router back from my brother (within a month) and I could send you that for ... er ... £15 all in (complete with network leads and some ADSL filter things. Though I'm no expert I can probably talk you through setting it up by phone (got skype?) ... you'd need to know your basic settings. As long as you're not with AOL I can handle it.
