I have often thought what type of government would be best. True Democracy would probably work better than what we have now, but I do NOT believe it would be the best choice.

If I remember correctly, Nietzsche had interesting views concerning his preferences towards governmental structures (to warn you, he was not a fan of true democracy). Also, the idiots need to be kickbanned from a true democracy, or else it will crumble in a very short time. I would not trust my countrymen with a democracy. The thought of handing political power to a random dude on the street perturbs me.

Very true. I don't trust most of my fellow humans either. Due to the true fact that the illiteracy rate in Tennessee (where I live) is 48%. I would never want the fate of our nation in there hands.

I was born in Tenessee (Knoxville). I reside a state below though. I do not know what is worse: rednecks or the cursed sun. I have been told that I do not bear an accent, and a couple of people have even assumed I was foreign. At least I have the chance to reside elsewhere - when I finish my studies that is - without carrying the hick stigma.

EDIT: These people would prefer theocracy to any form of government, including the alleged smart people who are parallel to me grade-wise.

Southerners refer to anyone who isn't southern as foreign. I was the first one in my family born outside of the south and my grandparents used to 'joke' that I was a foreigner.

Now the human race. This vile and ridiculous race. As I watch the news, and go out in public, I lose more and more faith for our race. People barely know how to handle themselves, let alone help others.

Curse I'm afraid. Many work for a better future for all, some others only wish to destroy it. An example can be found here in my area. I work for the council (partly) where I go around making fences, repairing posts and the like, and there are the fucking yobs that come by and destroy it again. Making the area look awful. In some areas, it looks like a bomb hit it. Thanks to mindless shit heads who are only interested in sending themselves and everyone else back to the dark ages.


For every smart decent intelligent person, there are 3 retards. That's why it's such a battle to advance and to be more than we are when we have to contend with mentally unstable (or in other words) special needs people. We haven't quite found the cure for madness yet. Sadly....

This may sound odd, but I believe that the human race could take a great lesson from ants. Yes, I said ants. Ants don't mindlessly bicker, they all work as a whole for the mutual benifit of the colony. Always moving forward without a single hitch.

That's because no single ant wishes nor tries to bring the rest of the colony down, they all work and help. Mankind doesn't come close to this. We are supposed to be very intelligent, and yet ants are far more efficient and capable, plus they don't blow each other up. Something fucked up.
We desperately need that cure for madness.

This is plain stupid. Ants work as a hive mind. They work that way because they EVOLVED that way. Can we spray down scents to alert our fellow humans that there is trouble? No. Can we carry 10x our own body weight? No. Is there one person who gives birth to all offspring in a 'city'? No. The comparison of ants and humans as a social structure is just plain dumb. It doesn't work like that.
Ants work as a colony together because it benefits THEM for survival and progression. Not us.
We work as seperate minds collaborating information because that is what benefits US.

And what is the parameter of progress? What do you measure progress as?

Personally I'd say that the more 'progressive species' is one which has built city upon city across the globe, sent their people to the moon and back, communicates efficiently over extremely huge distances, can transport themselves efficiently over huge distances, can get food at a whim, can survive in every corner of the earth, can use FIRE etc.

Ants can do some amazing things no doubt, but lets face it they ain't got shit on us.


As for the rest of what you said, I really don't get the self loathing which so many of us seem to have. The human race has achieved some truly amazing things, the very fact someone across the globe can interpret and understand what I am simply typing into a keyboard from my bedroom, is truly amazing for instance.
Sure there are downsides to our society, people can be major dickheads. But at the end of the day you can take absolutely NOTHING away from what we as a species have achieved.

Which one of us burnt their own at stakes for simply having an opinion? Which one of us nuked our own species for the sake of a stupid war? Which one of us have built many thousands of nukes that have the power to wipe this planet out several times over? Which one of us flew planes into buildings? This could go on and on.
We are supposed to be smarter. The question is...are we?
