RE: Former Athiest
It caught my attention, I watched them, I did more research, found Islam convincing enough to convert.

Religion is the best marketing tool in the world.

RE: Former Athiest

Thanks for your responses people, my intent wasn't to come on here and defend my faith or have a debate. That wasn't the purpose of this thread. I was just looking to see what the Atheist view was on the Islamic science references. It has obviously come to my attention that people have their doubts about what the Quran says , therefore do not believe in the scientific references. I did not make this thread to change your minds about anything, what you believe is what you believe. It wasn't to my knowledge that people tried to debunk the scientific references and I can honestly say that I didn't research every single scientific reference myself. Therefore I am simply just going to do more research on the debunking of these scientific references and find refutes for them.

What I will do is, make other threads pertaining to the "debunking", and refute the claims.

I now have an idea of what the Atheist view is on this topic, and this thread has served its purpose. Thanks for your responses and I hope no one took any offense, if you did, that wasn't my intention and I apologize. Again thanks for the responses.

Quote:My question is, what do Athiests say about the the scientific miracles in the Quran? Such as references to Embryology, big bang theory, etc...

Nothing. Atheism (note spelling) is about BELIEF:An atheist is simply a persons who does not believe in gods,he offers no answers AS AN ATHEIST.

I'm also a skeptic, moral relativist, egoist and political pluralist. That combination of positions means I have some kind of opinion on a great many topics. From my atheism, I have no opinions, only ONE position: " I do not believe in god(s) due to lack of credible evidence"

My first post says a little bit about me but, a revert in a nutshell, trying to reinforce belief in my faith by learning/exploring views of others.

Thanks for the response. And yeah, believing in the unseen may not seem appealing to base your entire life on.

Here is another similar Hadith

Volume 7, Book 65, Number 356:

Narrated Sad:

Allah’s Apostle said, “He who eats seven ‘Ajwa dates every morning, will not be affected by poison or magic on the day he eats them.”

Yeah well that's what you bloody got.

It's like when I asked for their opinion on ancient aliens coming down to influence ancient religions. Guess what, they tore it to shreds. That's what you should expect; when a view is stupid, expect people to tell you that it's stupid.
In your case it was islamic scientific references. Well that's bloody well stupid. Smile

On a lighter note, welcome to the forums. I do hope you endure round here longer than the most of the theists who have been invading lately. Could always use another muslim to moan at Tongue

Muslim Response 1: You're meant to read it in arabic duh, it makes no sense otherwise!
Muslim Response 2: This part isn't meant to be taken literally...

RE: Former Athiest
Did you ever get around to sourcing the claims to knowledge (scientific knowledge specifically) in the quran? Just wondering what effect the loss of this pillar has had on your beliefs, if any.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom.
