Many theists also know history very well, and will pick that particular theory apart while claiming that the historical accuracy of the bible does not matter. Or in the case of the Santorini debacle in Exodus Decoded, claim that god simply made the mountain blow.
The god concept has many adapters, comes in any color, and can be made compatible with any power source. There is seemingly no gap in human knowledge too small for god to hide his righteous immensity within. And no subject to vague or broad that he cannot encircle and control from beyond the veil of the observable universe. Truly a god of everything and nothing.
