A fatalist is someone who believes they are powerless to change their destiny. If you were looking for something synonymous with close-minded, I think 'conservative republicans' would have been better.Smile

Miles, lol, how close to Lexington are you? I predict severe drunkeness, explosions, and state police are in your future.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Everything you predicted is already in richmond, ever heard of Turpin drive?

From my house it would take about 10 minutes to get to lexington, takes like 3 minutes to get past the Loves gas station.

One of our middle school principals got a DUI charge 2 years ago, so I think you predicted a little bit late.

I certainly wouldn't be terribly worried about going. I already know what is required to change my mind; evidence. I don't think most church services are overly bothered with giving empirical evidence for the existence of God or Jesus, since they are (no pun intended) preaching to the converted. So I find it hard to believe that anything would come up that would change my mind, being that I am impervious to appeals to emotion and personal experience.

With that being the case, it's probably a waste of time, but if it was for a bet and I stood to win money, I would happily do it. I might also do it for research.

Short answer is NO

Reason?? Complex and usually involving bloodshed

I've actually gone to Catholic church a few times in my life.

It was mostly to hit on the women. Standing through the service was a pretty good excuse to stare at their asses.

Rgr that, and shame is a powerful aphrodisiac.

I was dating a self-described young fundamentalist Christian woman for a while back in '97, and yes, she put out. Despite her own acknowledgement that she was sinning she still went to church every Sunday as she had since she was born. I went along on a few occasions, if for no other reason than to enjoy the irony of what was to come when we got back to my place later. It didn't change me, and I was surprised to find it kind of interesting. Its all nonsense, of course, but from an anthropololgical point of view it was culturally and historically fascinating. If you marvel at the behavior and try to analyze it dispassionately it is quite interesting to watch this primitive ritual unfold.

I wouldn't. I'd just tell'em to keep their fucking beliefs to themselves.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
