Scientific proof for a theist.

RE: Scientific proof for a theist.
Oh, muslims....buy yourself a steel gorget.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Good eye opener. Big Grin

Thanks thats awesome.

Like I said any guys willing to give a nice clear cut explanation to this question, as obviously I don't know the science as well as you guys:

"how did the first cells on earth evolve into different species, all cells would be identical so its impossible for any kind of variation to occur".

The first part is a valid question, the second part is ridiculous. Just say "I don't know, and neither do you." As far as how does evolution happen, small mistakes are made in copying code. Nothing more complicated really need be leveraged.

You could always make an appeal to vanity "If you're so certain, and the facts are so clear, surely you could clear up all the misconceptions these guys have in a matter of moments". Conversely, you could ask your friend for chapter and verse where these things are explained in the koran. That evolution has happened is observable fact, the only theory bit is how. At the end of the day your friend has absolutely no idea what evolution IS. So it should make for great comedy if nothing else.

You have to be a special breed of idiot to argue for literal creation these days, and a refined breed of special idiot to argue for ID.

Indeed, we don't know everything. Anyone can answer a question but not everyone can answer it correctly. "I don't know" is a top answer in many cases.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

I know he's going to say that all cells are identical and only reproduce asexually, he's going to apply that to his 'first living cells argument' and claim that therefore cells couldn't have possibly been the first form of life otherwise no variation would have ever occured.

Also just wondering any new on whether this John guy has a degree.

Ask for evidence, they hate that.

Ask him if he has any evidence. Should stop him dead. We can only go with the evidence we have. If he thinks he knows best, ask him to prove it.

As evidenced by the fact that parents have children which are perfect clones of themselves.....lulz. So, drunkenly perusing your link. Argumentum verbosium. "Proof by intimidation". Tell your friend to stop complaining about science and provide his own, falsifiable theory. Press him for specifics and then call him a moron. It doesn't matter if you know why. He is. If he objects to such treatment, tell him that what can be claimed without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. (Call him a moron again)

Such people suffer from willful ignorance and/or sublime stupidity and/or cognitive dissonance. They are unmoved by reason or evidence

I use this quote so often it should be my signature
