Needless to say I quickly dropped it as a chatting name, but I held onto the name in my mind incase it applied to anything I drew or painted down the road. The concept for the image came about when I was experimenting with drawing the texture of fabrics. What I did was I got a bed sheet and I piled it in a corner on top of a locker, and I kept fluffing up the blanket until it fell naturally into something I found interesting, and this image is what came out. It was spooky how much like a face it looked, but I really enjoyed the whole process, It all just happened very naturally Smile

Oh wow, I wouldn't have guessed that it was a drawing of a sheet. That's pretty cool Smile

What medium, R-e-n-n-a-t?

It occurs to me that considering I love to photograph plants as much as grow them, I should try painting them more.

Really nice work summer. I always think you can learn alot about people by their art, things like what they like to create, what inspires them, even the materials they prefer and techniques all speak to the individual personality. Sticking with a plant/floral theme, here is a painting i did a few years ago, it's a conceptual abstract piece based on a rose. it was done on four small canvasses.

sorry about the bad picture on that last one, it was taken ages ago before i had a decent camera to photograph my work. Anyways, here is a charcoal life drawing i did a while back. It was actually done from a reference picture taken by a life photographer over on deviantart.

Here's a small sketch I drew a few months ago. I call it "Introspection" Smile

Splendid artwork! I have some of my own artworks, I'm not in mood to draw new ones so I'll just post my old artwork.

Heh. Jay, when I first learned to do watercolors, the teacher had me painting apples. That brought back a few memories just looking at it.

It's quite lovely.

Thanks summer Smile do you happen to have any pics of those watercolour pieces by any chance? would love to see em. Yeah painting fruit or doing studies on any organic material can be really great for learning tones hues and highlights, and very enjoyable to do, and when they are done you can get a really interesting result too. I think I have some old organic drawing studies from art college somewhere, must try and dig them out and put them up Smile

Lord, I was still in middle school when I did those...around 12 or 13. They're long gone.
