Ok, I just wanted to point out something that seems a little twisted on these here forums. The complete and utter disrespect of people who have a different opinion on God. Is it really that hard to see why people believe in God? Are you really that short-sighted? I know these are the atheist forums, so technically you can jump on someone as soon as they even remotely promote God as an idea, but surely an atheist should use the same logic to dismiss God as to respect the fact that intelligent people (for multiple valid reasons) have a God. God as an idea isn't going to disappear by one good post by an atheist on these forums. Some of you show a complete and utter lack of appreciation for God's involvement in our evolution as a species, and think he showed up a few minutes ago to try and sell you mortgage insurance.
I'm not sure if it's an atheist thing or an internet thing..
Religion will run its course naturally over time, why can't we respect each other in the mean time?
And before you reply, I want you to imagine your brother/sister believes in God.
Humor me.

I don't want to live in a place where I can't challenge someone's claims that have no evidence to back them up.
My gran is very, very Catholic, so don't do the "imagine if your family blah blah".
I respect peoples right to believe what they want, but often they will force on children and others around them... When a child is allowed to grow up fearing eternal hellfire, that is when I get worried... You have to get to the problem before that happens.

Of course, we're atheists! We don't believe in god's existence. So why would we assume he/it/thing had anything to do with anything?

I didn't mean any trickery. I was making a point about the dismissive nature of people on these forums. Rather than embracing opposing views and building a constructive argument, they tell people to "fuck off".
Carry on in your own special word. I just want it noted that I'm an atheist and I'm nothing like you guys. You're idiots.
