RE: So Gaddafi is dead....
You probably should read my post from about 6hrs ago and you'll see he wasn't murdered.

Yes, he was.

Caught in a crossfire is hardly murder. Although he does deserve to be hung drawn and quartered.

From what I read, he was not simply caught in the crossfire. He was captured and then killed. Of course, like you pointed out, he wasn't the nicest of men, but a war crime is a war crime.

Trying to escape, no doubt.

Quote:There is no organized stipulation when it comes to coups. Look at all of the failed ones.
My country has seen many. The times when it succeeded, it was performed by the army itself, within the command chain. There was only a single time where a junta within the army managed to topple the chain of command to perform a coup. After that, our army has only taken power whenever the country was in a chaos that the civil government couldn't solve.
And the army always gave the government back to the civil authorities, unlike, for example in Greece, where those had to be deposed manually.
Quote:I think you meant that as a question because I said no such thing. I am not okay with state sanctioned murder for anything less than rampant murder that shows no signs of ever abating. Let me be clear here. I said the previous because you were speaking as if somehow their fallen leader was better than the things you presume they will do.
Well, I think that nothing good will come out of this "revolution".
Quote:I actually agree with you here. Democracy is not compatible with Middle Eastern/African ideological beliefs. It always ends with someone getting murdered for fucking a guy in the ass. Anyway, it is not really the illusion of a choice if it is implemented correctly. It is up to the people of any country to see that it is.
Well, it's not just about ideological beliefs.
It is as much compatible with eurasia/middle east/africa,
as it is with the west. People won't vote for better governance, but will vote on their standing on some controversial issue or whatever.
And this is much more dangerous for the politically instable regions in the middle east, since it will lead to clashes.
Quote:Even if I disagree with the way he was killed, I hope like Hell it was the Libyan rebels that fucking killed him. We had no moral right to bomb Libya or pay mercenaries from other countries to join the fight. As much foreign intervention they had, this could absolutely only be called the Libyans revolution if they personally killed him.
It was probably France who betrayed his location to the rebel mob.
We too had a revolution back in the 1920ies, and we exiled the sultan, but we did not kill, nor humiliate him-after all, he was a descendant of Osman Gazi.
Quote:But of course, in 20 years we will find out that the CIA or another government agency started the war like it has started so many wars.
It's too obvious even now.

Nice speculation.

Why would it be a speculation?
Did we speculate on anything when the USA was helping the mujaheddin in Afghanistan?

Google "Pan Am Flight 103" and get back to us.

Oh I have read all about that. All about Libya's past and present. That is why I came up with these questions. Everything does not add up.
Want to talk about shooting down civilians.....

On 3 July 1988, Vincennes, under the command of Captain Will Rogers III, fired two radar-guided missiles and shot down an Iran Air Airbus A300 civilian airliner over the Strait of Hormuz, killing all 290 passengers and crew on board. According to Captain Rogers, there had earlier been an attack on the Vincennes by Iranian motor boats. Crucially, the Vincennes then misidentified the Iranian Airbus as an attacking F-14 Tomcat fighter.

Here is a nice coup of Gaddafi's "friend" helped by the US(Possible), but didn't last long.

And well, they also self-righteously defended their actions by stating that they acted properly by shooting it down, even welcomed them as heroes.
Okay.
