They aren't really that complicated. The extra words inserted by people who lack the ability to be concise might make them look that way, but really, they are not complicated at all.

Yeah, but the intellectual dishonesty behind those few words certainly is complicated, even if not at all sophisticated.
Yeah theists are so stupid with their complex reasoning and atheists so intellectual to not think anything at all.
Dammit Shell you ruined that put down!!! RE: Are Religions/Religious Arguments Complicated Because...

It can be hard to keep things simple when defending a lie. A lie has a habit of becoming more complex as more questions are asked, the more complex the question the more complex the lie will have to be. When asserting the improbable without evidence, you'll have a hard time defending it.
It's just an ongoing ad-hoc justifications (e.g."And, that's not me on film, they tampered with that too") successfully prevent outright falsification. Just an endless supply of elaborate competing explanations. Occam's Razer rules it out. Never multiply explanations beyond what's required to explain anything. One should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity. Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist. You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them. Also Shells, keep in mind what may not be complicated for you might be complicated for another person. Example: Math might come easily for you, whereas it might be hard for me.
I can't explain why religious arguments are so complicated, but it must have something to do with religious believers making them overly complicated. For example, my atheist beliefs are quite simple: 1. I've seen no definite, irrefutable proof of any gods. 2. There is ample evidence to show that all gods appear to have been human inventions throughout history. Therefore, I don't believe that any gods are real, nor do I worship any. I'm guessing that most atheists here have similar belief patterns.
Then you have the theists coming here saying that we really worship Satan, ourselves, material things, etc. In fact, there's a thread here saying that all atheists are animists. Or they claim that atheism really is a religion. Or, in a twisted form of (il)logic, they try to claim that there really are no atheists and we all really do believe, but we pretend there isn't a god so we can be as immoral as we want without worrying about eternal punishment. Or we're all just angry at God, or are rebelling against him. So when you look at all these obviously false, invented arguments, it's not hard to believe that they're so good at just inventing explanations to keep their unfounded beliefs going that they come up with any ad hoc argument and spread it as fact.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Only intolerant pricks use those arguments. Calling me immoral before you even know me is just asking for a black eye. If someone called me nasty things in public for simply being an atheist, I'd deck them. Judgemental pricks.

You don't have to be an atheist, only human Ace. They're all intolerant pricks.
