I read an article about clergy who lose their faith, and we'd all probably be very surprised to learn how many preachers/priests are secret atheists. The problem is that many of them stick with their jobs because they don't know how to make an honest living.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Yeah, I think they probably figure they can try to do good from their position as well. It's an interesting thought, and not a black and white situation. I have sympathy for then.

What do they do? Cogizant of what buttered their toast all these years, most of them go on conning the sheeps in the name of Jesus, except now without even the last vestige of internal pretense of sincerity whatsoever.
I personally think majority of evangelical pastors with national reputation fall squarely in this class.

Absolutely nothing happens. They can go on about their business or not, same as always. No different than anything else involving god.......absolutely nothing happens.
