Theists, what does faith mean to you?
|
Being a theist means never having to admit you're wrong.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
A friend suggested to me that faith is a way of claiming absolute certainty. And because of that certainty, evidence is not required.
What a truly dangerous concept. Feel free to send me a private message.

I honestly feel certain types of faith, certain beliefs in certain things, should die. I think humans are grown up enough; we've learned enough to not need to believe in them anymore.
It's almost like a child growing up. We've got to let go of certain childish things. Or else we'll be at this stage forever. I am absolutely certain that I do not know, but it might be possible to find out. - Christopher Hitchens

The idea that faith, the non-evidence faith, is somehow a good thing in any sense of the word, should certainly die. It's absolutely bat shit insane.
It is zonked. It is kerplunk to the dunk. Feel free to send me a private message.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Who are you to tell Christians that they can't live a life they chose, I do not tell you how to believe or not to believe. I might suggest things but I certainly do not tell you. GC

The total faith of the child in its parents to teach it how to think and provide facts.
The faith that is abused to instead fill its head with mythology. Feel free to send me a private message.
