I think Shi made a valid point in the OP regarding double standards. I think it would be an interesting and worthwhile discussion to have, if we can all just take a step back, look past some of politically incorrect lingo, and assess the actual point being made. :-)
I think this is an important thing we need to talk about, but people tend to shy away from talking about it due to fear of being politically incorrect or hurting someone's feelings.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

You'd have to ask him to be sure, but from what I gather, he's saying there's a double standard between how whites are able to show their objection to (perceived) racism verses how blacks are able to show their objection to (perceived) racism. Referring back to the events of Baltimore, mobs destroyed the homes, businesses, and private property of people who had nothing to do with what happened to Michael Brown. If white people did the same thing due to the shooting of those reporters, the general public would be a lot less forgiving.
....I think that's what he's saying, and he can correct me if I got it wrong.

I don't understand how the public would be less forgiving? There have been plenty of riots where looters and rioters where white. I have seen riots after major sporting events that hardly get any press at all.

Yes, but sports riots do not cause nearly as much destruction for nearly as long.

What does that have to do with anything? Was the public harsher on sports rioters than it was on the Ferguson rioters?

Oh, please. Educate yourself. On a global level if you please. That statement is simply wrong.
Also, sports isn't everything. Neo Nazi riots against fugitives quickly become the norm here in Europe. And they are white - kind of comes with the job description of being a Nazi.

Sports riots can't be equated to what happened in Baltimore.

By global scale, do you mean looking at other countries and throughout history?
For us to be able to compare the public reaction to that of Baltimore's and access whether or not there's a double standard, it would have to be done in the US, and in the same decade.

Why not? they are both instances in which people rioted. Your saying that when rioters are white they are held to a stricter standard than when rioters are black, I just gave you instances in which rioters where white and they where not held to a double standard.
