Atheism the unscientific belief (part one, two, and three)
RE: Atheism. The UNscientific belief (part two)
Hatin' on nobody. Endocannabinoid system is in your own body. We all have it. They've just figured out how to jam the throttle open.

No way can you guys inhale a plant version and get as high as these guys have clearly done, to sound as they do.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

I'm sure I could but I don't want to. I'd rather not end up like Ozzy Osborne . I am happy without it and I'm the type prone to all sorts of addictions, if anyone has an "addictive personality" I do: So I try to be happy with what I have and avoid too many luxuries Smile

Sex addiction is enough for me Tongue - and I'm managing to control that lately, amazingly. Still as fun as always though Tongue

I used to go around calling myself a Christ-following Shaman, and some of my woo would have sounded surprisingly similar to Prik-Sak, here.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

"Prik Sak" lol, if we're gonna do derogatory nicknames I still personally like my own "Little Prik".

Why? Did you want those cigarette butts for yourself?...

Oh, well - I guess you're going to have to be faster next time, won't you? Tongue

Well, well, i have to admit that you are learning a little bit of comicality from me but you still trail long long way from me.
Never mind Nutter as the old granny said..........is never too late.  Smile

Nothing you say is comical on purpose, Prikky-Poot. You are the punchline.

And you have evidence for this I presume? This parallelism looks exactly like the body is all there is.

You only need evidence if you're interested in verifying your conclusions.

Clearly not everyone is.

RE: Atheism. The UNscientific belief (part two)
Here's the thing. When I move my arm, nerves connected to my muscle fire causing the muscles to contract. That nerve is connected to another nerve and so on up into the brain itself. If the consciousness which causes my arm to move is immaterial, someplace in the brain it has to connect up to the very material nerves. At that point there will be nerves magically firing without any material cause evident. So your claim that the consciousness which moves the arm is non-material amounts to a claim that someplace in the brain, a literal miracle is occurring: nerves firing without any apparent input. Unless you've got evidence of that, you've got nothing. Parsimony says that if the material brain is sufficient for the creation of mind - and it appears it is - there's no reason to add speculative "other forces" that we have no evidence of.

I've said before, evidence is only a problem to someone who has none. That way lies transcendental arguments, logical hula hoops and "you just got to have faith!"
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
