Yes but you're just making up that he is like the sun. Can't he stop himself hurting things just by being near them?
So the only interaction he has had is dictating a book? Doesn't he do anything else? He's never interacted with you? Science books match up better to real life than the Quran. Hell, most stories match up better. Why aren't they also all written by God? Feel free to send me a private message.

OK well, it seems there isn't any actual answers forthcoming here so I'm going to give up. Thanks for trying anyway Atlas. I can't accept "I'll just know" as a criteria.

It won't be fair if God showed himself, then all of us would believe. We must believe by our own logic. The holy books are mere "Heavenly help" to ease up our path to believe. Being that, we can't see him in this life, the law of this life was written for it to be the test where we, and only we, decide which path to follow. The Quran never contradicted human science, actually that is one reason I believe more and more. About what God does ? he's a creator, unlike us he doesn't need "entertainment" or "change" or "fun".. There's no reason to think life is a test of belief.
So he's deliberately hiding and providing bad evidence to see who will come to the irrational conclusion that he exists? I don't care if he exists, it makes no difference to me. If I believe he exists, I have passed? I think not. I also have to kiss his ass, which I'm not going to do. Anyhow, clearly you've convinced yourself that there is no evidence because he's concealing it, but you believe anyway, so that's kind of the end of the discussion. Knowing there's a 'death' coming to each of us, I tend to care more about the existence of that creator. Life is too "boring" and "short". It smels fishy.
Huh? You're not happy with life so you must invent fairy tales to feel better?
No, the universe isn't evidence of anything except itself. We don't know its origins. You're claiming to know more about Cosmology than all of science just by looking at stuff. Feel free to send me a private message.

Atlas, I see you making a lot of knowledge claims about the nature of your god, but they're sorely lacking in Vitamin E(vidence).
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
