I think anyone who thinks it is anything other than unethical to go and have the baby anyway when the fetus has this condition, is definitely horribly mistaken.

The person who experienced this was completely anti-abortion in 100% of cases, but when she discovered her fetus had this condition and she would basically be giving birth to a stillborn and all it would do was produce more suffering for her and the fetus, and the fetus was guaranteed to die after birth, she aborted.

I will never disclose who this person was because it is private and confidential to her, but I'm just saying that even 100% anti-abortion people can change their mind in certain circumstances if they go through experiences like this. 100% pro-life definitely makes no sense, it would be nothing but sadistic to not abort a fetus with Anencephaly. It would achieve nothing but needless suffering considering the death would be guaranteed anyway.

No Evie, it was not you. My question comes from the result of reading through all the comments on the thread and seeing some phrases here and there questioning it being illegal. Many know of Roe vs. Wade so I had to assume that everyone knows abortion is legal in the US. I just wasn't sure about over seas.

And I look forward to Tibs' response to me... I really don't get the comment about how the fetus has a right to use someone's body because the reproductive system is "designed" for that purpose... it's a non-sequitur and one could argue the same about the use of the "design" of the penis meaning men had a right to plant their seed in women. And the fact he has to put it in quotes displays how indeed aware he is that the whole "design" element is irrelevant.

If I am missing an option between physically restraining pregnant women, or punishing them and/or the surgeon afterwards, please do let me know.

I can't see any other way that making abortion "illegal" would have any meaning.
