Yes, I realize that there's many reasons that a person could become over weight. I have been over weight about twice in my life, it was a horrible thing which I overcame by becoming serious about the food I eat. I don't put junk in my body and I am staunchly opposed to any notions that go against health. Yes, I agree that there's a lot of reasons that people can become over weight, I think that we should look at all of them and try to make a culture that is more sensitive to health. From what I have seen, I have been called weird for eating the strict diet that I eat. It is just down right depressing that I don't see more people taking my side with this issue, so they can protect the fatty feelings.

The reason I don't take your side is not because I want to protect anyone's feelings, it's because I think your proposal would only make the problem worse. I come from a poor family. My parents didn't love each other or us for that matter. It was horrible. Thinking back to that time, if I had to deal with the additional tension and resentment at home for causing a financial burden on my parents for being fat, it might just have pushed me over the edge and broken me. I think education is a good way to address the problem, as is replacing cafeteria meals at school with healthy food, but forcing people who are already shunned by society to feel even more resented is a terrible proposal.

RE: The "I have a confession thread"
I once spent an absolutely obscene amount of time on a MMORPG, clocking up something like 4 months of real time in-game.

Ah, it was marvellous though. I became a Monarch of a group called the Soul Seekers, with over 500 members at one point. I was like a god, I was so powerful and familiar with the game that I could rush to the aid of any of them that needed my help almost anywhere on the whole map. They'd send me the coordinates of where they died and lost their best stuff, and I'd storm over there and return in a few minutes with their things.

Eventually there was a weird massive mutiny which I never understood, and almost everyone left. Oh well. Great times!
