Here's a handy tip for those that use conditioner in their hair:
Always rinse out conditioner with cooler water than what you started with. Why?
Because hot water opens up the pores in your skin and hair. Yes your hair has pores in it.
When you condition the hair the conditioner goes in the pores and reaches the cortex of your hair (middle layer of the hair shaft). If you rinse it out with hot water, you have not closed your pores and thus, you will rinse all of the conditioner out of your hair, rendering it useless. Sure, the film makes it feel nice, but you want it INSIDE your hair not on top of it. Rinsing with cool water ensures that you are closing your pores and keeping the conditioner where it belongs.
