To me it suggests approval and enjoyment. It often means agreement, but not necessarily. If I feel another point of view has been put forward well, I'll kudos it.

I also use it to try and encourage what I see as better behaviour or quality of posts from someone I am usually not so impressed with.

I usually give kudos because I both agree and enjoy the post...

... or it's a lazy way of being sarcastic.

If it makes me literally laugh out loud, and not due to the argument of the post being ridiculously stupid I give kudos.

If the person makes the precise point I was going to make before I can make it or just says something I was about to say before I could say it.

If someone answers a question for me or spots something I missed I give kudos.

If someone posts a pic of their ass or whatever and I like it,

I clicked the radio button for "both". In your two examples in this post, I think both would be misleading.

On another note, I feel some sense of tit for tat going on occasionally. Like if I kudo somebody's post, I might get kudoed back on a post that really doen't deserve it, like..."Yep."

Hmmm. Good point.

My "neither" option is too ambigious I reckon. I meant "neither" in the sense of "neither of the above options", not "neither" in the sense as "it has nothing to do with agreement OR enjoyment" (because of course it does) but that wasn't clear.

Technically "x, Y or neither" covers all options. "neither"=basically "false dichotomy". Technically "neither" even covers the "both" option because "both" is neither just X nor just Y. But I feel like "both" also needed it's own category.

Sometimes I give kudos because the post is such complete and utter shite that I spit water on my screen from laughing so hard....

Usually, it's either because I agree with it, I think it's valid, I think it's funny, or it has a sexual innuendo.
