I completely forgot about that ... thread. Oh my.
So, the joke (as if rock crushing were something to be joked about!) originally started when a spammer posted an advertisement for a chinese company selling or renting out rock crushing equipment, along with a bizarre rambling text about the great benefits of mobile horizontal rock crushers.
I, like others, had until that day never even entertained the idea that something like specific rock crushing machines exist, let alone that they are apparently a big enough market to justify spamming random message boards, but once down the rabbit hole, it became clear that the question whether to use horizontal or vertical, jaw crushers or impact crushers or rotary thingies was far from settled and depended on specific applications. So someone posted a picture of some models as a reaction to some troll or other, until Exian commented that, hey, he knew this particular model because they are using it where he works. It was all uphill from there.
