The Problem with Christians
RE: The Problem with Christians
I'm pretty sure that even in the context of the story, the whole Red Sea thing violated the free will of the Egyptians who drowned in it. Not to mention that this follows immediately after ol' YHWH deliberately suspended the Pharaoh's ability to exercise his free will by hardening his heart. Multiple times.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Right, which I was going to mention, but I anticipated something along the lines of:

"Drowning the Egyptians didn't actually violate their free will. They still maintained their free will to want to live, they just weren't able to accomplish the goal they willed for."

Or something equally as retarded. [emoji14]

LMAO! You are house-sitting and horny, and a CLOCK was the best thing to fuck that you could find lying around?! Don't these people have pets, for god's sake?

Yes, the numbers are different. My point is that any event can be calculated as exceedingly unlikely if you rewind far enough back in time. But once it's happened, it's no longer an issue. You can't infer magic by looking at numbers.

I think that the issue, is that probability does come in to play, when dealing with sets.   There is also an issue of timing and order.   If I where to win the lottery, then it would be improper for you to say, that I didn't, because the probability is low.  If however, I where to win the lottery not once, but multiple times, and every time, when I had spent all my money.... would you suspect something was up?

Lol my friends would kill me if they saw what I was writing Big Grin

No, me and the cat are just good friends! It would have been entirely inappropriate, and also he scratched me when I tried.

RR: It would be very unusual, yes. I would not however just make up a magical explanation. I'd actually investigate using scientific methods if possible. At no point is appealing to incredulity useful.

Hey, you never know until to try, right? [emoji14]. I mean, I'd hate to see you miss an opportunity just because you didn't ASK. Maybe get her liquored up a bit first. I bet your friends have got something stocked in the cabinet.
