Worship my spiteful, evil, petty master! Or he will do evil, spiteful things to you!
Err... no thanks. When it gets to this stage, the religious person is just admitting they are kept in their cult through fear. What they can't seem to understand is how that fear is absolutely useless when projected onto a non-cult member. You may as well threaten me with the monster under my bed.
He's quite misunderstood, really. Like the evil monkey in the closet.

Whatcha gonna do when your husband kicks the bucket? I've worked with plenty of Stepford Christian wives before; Submissive types don't usually fare too well when it comes to figuring shit out! Poor critical thinking skills, lack of motivation, and a general inability to multi-task are the side effects of leaving the heavy-thinking to one's huuuusband all of the time.

Submit? Submit to your husband?
That makes me feel ill. Religion can be so vile.
Kind of a mixed message here, though. She's so humble that she's submitting, but also so arrogant as to presume to speak for God to us.

I don't submit to my other half. We work together as a team, equals, as it should be. He's now busting his ass working 55 hours a week. An hour after he gets home, I have to leave for school and he works on Saturdays, so I barely see him. He pitches in around the house when asked. If I don't feel good, he picks up the slack. The majority of the time, we do the grocery shopping together. In all the years we've been together, he's never let me carry any groceries in the house. Today will be a first because I'm picking up my order from Sam's while he's at work.
Bottom line: There is no submitting of any kind unless we submit to each other.

Same here
I love and deeply respect my wife. I would die for her in an instant. I'd do anything in my power to keep her safe. Yet I'm not going to submit to her, nor would I ever want her to do the same to me. I find the idea totally creepy. Like you say, we're equal partners. We discuss everything. Neither of us just gets to announce what happens.
I find it really sad to think of a relationship being any other way, unless there is a really good reason for it to be.

Nobody deserves to burn in Hell, especially at the beck of a cosmic despot who created them knowing in advance what would happen. If you think so, you love no one, and if your Gaud thinks so, he doesn't love anyone, either.
Quote:You have yet to explain what reality is but you say you believe in it.
Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than how they might seem or be imagined. Following from that, truth is that which comports with reality.
Quote:God is reality because there is no lie in Him. He is the truth from Him come everything and you can't even understand anything without him. You can't even understand the bible without him. I don't doubt that you were sincere about your religion and your faith, but you didn't have faith in God because once you are with God it is impossible to leave.
Bullshit. I had faith in the same god you do. Now I don't because I've realized there's no reason to believe anything on faith, and there's no other reason to believe in any gods. You can claim the contrary all you want, but I know better, and so do most of the people here, and that's why you sound like such an ignorant twat when you continue to brazenly insist that our faith wasn't real or that it wasn't really faith in god. Yes, it was, to the same extent that yours is. Your Bible, your pastor, and your flapping mouth can insist otherwise all they want; they're just wrong.
You have created a false god to deem evil. You don't even understand what evil is and have a skewed view of the world and how evil people. I say this because your statement is naive there are people out there doing evil every day and you are blind to the evil inside your own heart. You have too high of a view of people and too low of a view of God.
Thank you for you definition of reality.
If you had faith in the same God that I do then you would still have faith in Him because He isn't the kind of God that will lose His people. That is why I know it is impossible for you to have had the same faith as I do. You keep explaining your idea of God, and it shows me that you never believed in God. No one who knows Him like I do would ever call Him evil. If you believe like I do you would enjoy Him and find comfort in His word. It would be enjoyable to be in His presence and you would be happy for the day you die because you would be with Him. You would pray to know Him more and you would not want to do anything that would hurt Him because you loved Him. Your would seek to spend your life for Him not out of duty but because He is worth it. You would see people walking down the street wish that they would understand the beauty of God. You would enjoy being able to speak about His goodness and enjoy the presence of God when He gives you the power to do so. So if you believed like I do you would still believe and be growing in faith and joy. You would long to stare at God and see how beautiful He is and be amazed at His faithfulness. You don't though so it isn't the same. You talk about christianity like it was a job to you and a list of dos and don'ts. You hate the very thought of God and that I would talk to you about Him. You keep giving me your resume of christian works as if that proves something about you faith in God. You speak more about what you achieved in christianity than your love for God. It isn't the same.

Throughout the day we make statements about what is going on around us, yet hardly any of them pan out.
It is no different with your god.
How so?

God is no more a reality than any other fictionally created deity throughout history.

I know for a fact that those who claim to understand anything in relation to him have in fact lost touch with reality for the sake of their god delusion.

I suppose bullshit is easier to understand without a delusional belief in something.
God is more of a reality than you can even conceive. Tell me this why is there grass... not how but why. Why is there existence? (Not how but why) Do you have worth? Is it just based on the arbitrary value systems of people or do you have intrinsic worth? How do you know what reality really is? Why do people know things? Why are we relational? Go beyond biology because we all know that when we seeks companionship we aren't thinking about surviving or passing on our genes but we craved the presence of another person. Why?

If I haven't kicked the bucked keep on living my life because it does not depend on him. If what you say is true, which I don't doubt, they have made an idol out of their husband. My husband doesn't give me worth nor does he complete me. I was a full human being before I met him and I will be one after he dies. My life is hidden in Christ and He is the one I put my everything in. I appreciate you concern, but if you knew me you wouldn't be making this statement at all. I live with my husband and know his faults and he knows mine. I don't seek to find my identity in my Husband or children or job or intellect or looks all of that is passing away. I put my worth and meaning is Someone far more stable, I find it in Christ. He is stable firm, gives me strength and upholds me when things seek to take me out. He makes me bold and gives me worth. No one's ideas or opinions of me can change that not mine or my husbands.
