Shouldn't Atheists learn to accept religion?

Religion is like a dick. It's great you have one, I'm happy for you, but kindly don't stick it down my throat.
I'm cool with anyone else believing as they wish, but if they wish to impose it on me via law, or uninvited preaching, I can, will, and do speak up. Between friends, I love having discussions about the topic, because we all seem to have the ability to hear disagreement without getting butthurt. Doesn't bug me. I don't want a stranger coming up and hectoring me, and sure as hell don't want a group of them trying to enforce their private beliefs using public governance. 
You didn't deal with my objection .... The bible clearly states that Christians should evangelize .... spread their beliefs (or interpretations) Those that don't follow this edict live in their own belief and leave others alone ...
Those that do evangelize are trying to make others believe their beliefs, why shouldn't those that disagree be able to respond?

I'm an atheist. I am different to Muslims. And, again, not everyone with a religious belief is going around killing people, or forcing their religion down their throats. Some people genuinely just want to be left alone to believe what they believe.
and I'm not saying it's okay for religious people to impose their religion on others. That's not okay. That's unfair. I am saying that if you want them to respect the fact that you believe in no god, you have to respect the fact that they do believe in a god. And a lot of atheists online these days just aren't doing that. RE: Shouldn't Atheists learn to accept religion?

I don't care whether or not they respect my being an atheist, I don't expect them to...and they don't. So it's a moot point for me.

Err, we have had religion shoved down our throats for 2000 years and it is still happening today, its even in legislation, and in the courts, I could go on ..... They are not just talking about their beliefs, but how wrong we are not to believe .... What do you want us to do? Leave the airwaves to the bigots?

That's true. It is absolutely wrong to try to make others believe what you believe. But I don't consider evangelicals 'moderately religious.' This is an example of going too far with religion. And I know it's in the bible, and that many other unacceptable teachings are also in the bible. But people who are moderate in their beliefs recognize that the bible was written in another time and that not every one of its teachings is something to be listened to. 
I have respect for people with religion/religious beliefs...if they're deserving of it. That's the best I can do.
The vast majority of Christians believe that evangelizing is important and/or required. Not just evangelicals.
