But wait a moment. According to the jesus freaks god=jesus so who the fuck was he talking to?
Just another little trinity-induced problem for them.

But he wasn't murdered he committed suicide, he knew his actions would lead to his own death.
There is a big difference from throwing yourself on a grenade to save your friends when being unaware that the situation would arise ... than creating the situation whereby the grenade is thrown so you can be considered a hero

Do you think there are no situations where it is pointless to fight back to stop being murdered ? Do you think that a parent who sacrifices themself doesn't know they are going to die ?

You may think that in Christianity vain glory is discouraged. Do you think no one has ever sacrificed themselves without seeking vain glory ?
Do you think the world shouldn't have happened because some people might do evil ? Or do you think the good people should be given the opportunity to live and not let the evil people have victory ?
madog, you may look at my answers above.

{1} Do you think there are no situations where it is pointless to fight back to stop being murdered ? Do you think that a parent who sacrifices themself doesn't know they are going to die ?

{1} indulging in events that you know will lead to your own death is suicide .... SO DROP THE MURDER ... Those that killed the fictional "Jesus" may have some guilt for performing their duties, but this is about the "Jesus" characters suicide .... If you don't want to deal with the issue raised Fuck off and start your own thread
{2} Yes the "Jesus" character ...
{3} What I think has no consequence as the universe doesn't give a damn about me, you, humanity or any fictitious Gods or their offspring.
{4} I do " think the good people should be given the opportunity to live and not let the evil people have victory" That is exactly why I wish you would get rid of your fairy tales and let people get on with it, without stupid cavemen logic

You sure love these false analogies, don't you?
The problem with your example, is that both the child and the parent have no magical powers. They are mortal beings, caught in a scenario where, the child will die unless the parent sacrifices their life. They are both subject to the physical laws of the universe, and the whims of the sadistic murderer.
In the Jesus dying "for our sins" scenario, he is literally sacrificing himself, to him self, to act as a loophole for rules he created.
Why couldn't the Biblical "God" character just forgive humanity?
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Do you think soldiers who fight in wars are wrong ?

Did you want to hurt me by those words ? I wasn't hurt.

You may agree some people may choose to sacrifice themselves not seeking vain glory. Do you think you can prove Jesus was seeking vain glory ?

Do you think you are made of cells, and that your cells control you, and you are a slave to them ? What may you think was the cause originally of your mind ? Do you think it was some cells and they are your master ?
Do you think the cells take care of you ?

What may you have thought was caveman logic ?

Some people grew up with different ideas on that kind of thing.
