Anyway, gators can easily climb over the average chain link fence in a couple of seconds.

Jesus Fucking Christ!  Why does anyone go to Florida?!

The beach! Just have to watch out for jellyfish, and the odd shark.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

Here's a video of an alight or at splash mountain in 2009
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=play...1ZqrnJkQuQ

Here's one at Coronado Spring's Resort at Disney in 2013
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CKSEaCItVB4

This is a long video but skip to 11 minutes to see them on the beach (the sign only says no swimming so they're all playing right at the edge) and the last 2 minutes for the alligator.

I love how, in the first video, they're playing Jaws music for like a three foot gator.

Lol that cracked me up too but you know 7 years later that thing isn't small anymore.
The last video is the most interesting to me. Those beaches are inviting people down to the alligator water O.o
Even if you're not swimming, alligators are fast on land. They also let people feed them. So now you have this alligator who is like oh look the humans threw me a snack here at the beach.

Your title exactly captured my thought. My thought was: why were there alligators on the loose in an amusement park! Oh my god, I realise they're not as dangerous as crocodiles as this video clearly demonstrates:

But such a thing would be completely unthinkable in Australia purely from a public safety concern.

What I don't get is why there weren't any warning signs. Or, if there were, how stupid you can be as a parent to still let your offspring wade into the water. The animal was only acting according to it's instincts. Can't blame the gator for wanting to fill it's belly.

Apparently there were signs, but the fact is it's a private amusement park, why is there dangerous wildlife inside?

Cats are ferocious. They scare off black bears too.

The cat has to remain indoors for the safety of the bears.

If you look at the third video I posted you will see the beach. This is what I don't get, why have a beach for water with alligators in the first place? A no swimming sign (there is one) is not enough. Alligators are even faster on land than in water. In the video I posted the family was well within the rules of "no swimming" while allowing their young children to run along the edge of the water. A hungry alligator could have just as easily snatched one of those kids who weren't in the water but were really close to it. When you make a beach, with beach chairs and a hammock, people are not going to expect that there's something dangerous in the water.
