An alligator's snack at Disney

And the sting rays and the man-o-war.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion. -- Superintendent Chalmers Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy
Lol that cracked me up too but you know 7 years later that thing isn't small anymore.
The last video is the most interesting to me. Those beaches are inviting people down to the alligator water O.o Even if you're not swimming, alligators are fast on land. They also let people feed them. So now you have this alligator who is like oh look the humans threw me a snack here at the beach. RE: An alligator's snack at Disney

What I don't get is why there weren't any warning signs. Or, if there were, how stupid you can be as a parent to still let your offspring wade into the water. The animal was only acting according to it's instincts. Can't blame the gator for wanting to fill it's belly.
Apparently there were signs, but the fact is it's a private amusement park, why is there dangerous wildlife inside?

This is what I don't get, why have a beach for water with alligators in the first place? A no swimming sign (there is one) is not enough. Alligators are even faster on land than in water. In the video I posted the family was well within the rules of "no swimming" while allowing their young children to run along the edge of the water. A hungry alligator could have just as easily snatched one of those kids who weren't in the water but were really close to it. When you make a beach, with beach chairs and a hammock, people are not going to expect that there's something dangerous in the water. |
