I had no idea that Delaware had such an aggressive foreign policy.
Hell, you should see Rhode Island's.

Capital punishment doesn't make any kind of sense, from where I'm standing.

When someone gets let out of prison super late "Oops you were innocent all those years, sorry about that, our bad." That's bad enough... you can't exactly do that when someone has been put to death.
I'm more concerned with the cops just gunning down jaywalkers. That is capital punishment, too. Just without all that expensive court shit.

Good for them, I mean I think it's pretty much a technicality at this point anyway. When was the last time Delaware executed someone? This year only 5 states used the death penalty to execute 20 people. Only two states, Texas and Georgia, used it more then once. Most states, if the death penalty isn't off the books legally, it's just not used anymore.

2012. And as the story makes clear the 14 people on death row were in a holding pattern because of the court case and some political bickering in the legislature.

I'm more concerned with that too, I reckon. But not all cops are bad of course, there are many good cops too.

It's only the "rules" that were struck down. Wonder if there will be a push to change the rules. Doubt it, but you never know.

Sooner then I would have thought. In Washington we have the death penalty on the books still, but haven't used it in ages, since 1994 when we hung someone which was the last person hung in the United States. We didn't even execute the green river killer.
Washington is the only state with an active gallows although I think it's unlikely that there will be any more executions in Washington, despite the law being on the books.

Can you remain a "good cop" when you turn a blind eye towards crimes committed by the "bad cops?" The Thin Blue Wall is a reality.
