In this day and age we literally see them filled in as we go. We won't see all of them being filled in our lifetime. And our distant decendants won't see them filled. We know more than the cavemen looking up at the sky and calling sun and moon gods, but there's still a plethora of things we don't know and won't know for a long time to come. I doubt there will ever be an age of absolute knowledge. But that's OK. We still don't need gods as fillers for something we don't know as of yet. The argument isn't silly at all, because the ones seeing god behind every dark corner are basically still cavemen. On a higher level maybe, but still desperately in need of having a supernatural explanation for the unexplained. RE: Why disbelievers believe? They believe in so called “God of the gaps”.

Watching as their fucking god slowly becomes less and less relevant should trigger in theists a sense of pattern recognition which would tell them where this whole thing is going. Sadly, for the stupider among them, that is where blind faith comes in.

(Wikipedia 2016). Here is the thing i don't believe in god i already had a shaky belief from the start during child hood even then science itself made more since than god did it. So here is the thing early man used god because of the limited understanding of the world, sure they knew it was wrong and revolved around the sun but they were limited in technology and understanding. Here we are in the 21st century we have advanced telescopes, a large hadron collider, we know evolution happened, and we have been to space multiple times even put objects in space such as the ISS. There is no excuse... to believe in god anymore the god of the gaps so damn small as it is once we get to a point were we have a grand unified theory of everything and find out the origins of the universe.. the idea of god even before then should be non existent. But as it stands you have people like WLC and others using junk science to prove their point science cannot science properly via word salad. It can be even seen with Sye Ten the problem is... even with the belief in god it comes down to the fact it's a evolutionary belief is i cant really blame on a believer since most of them have been brain washed into the belief at such a young age. But then again the information is there and even on the internet and museums it is up to them to look at the evidence and no me explaining to them.

(Wikipedia 2016). First of all you don't know what theorem means so don't use that word. And first of all god says he is all knowing and that he provides all information in his/her book(s). And secondly... Just because science hasn't answered something doesn't mean it can't. And lastly... For a long time we didn't know what water was made out of (FYI, H20) And now we do because of science and with that we can infer that science will do the same to all questions. I'll be nice, god is a hypothesis (even though he is not testable). This science inference is a theory. RE: Why disbelievers believe? They believe in so called “God of the gaps”.

Science will never give us all the answers, in fact we probably only have a tiny tiny tiny percentage of the total knowledge available. That isn't a good reason to believe in God though. If people have believed that God caused A, B and C, then we find a natural explanation for A and B, it seems unlikely that God will be responsible for C. It's silly. It's just the modern equivalent of those cavemen trying to explain the world around them and failing to do so correctly. ![]() |
