Once again. Did you actually watch the footage? Did you perceive it as threatening? Hands in the air for about 30 seconds, back turned towards the cops. If it gave them pause, plenty of time to rush him before he even reached that car. Then he put his hands on the roof for another 5 seconds at the very least before putting them in his pockets. So, again, drama queen much? Or does simply not complying with cops warrant instant death? Because they don't react quickly enough to the situation, if they did, there would be less. Not to mention that South Africa is full of N.... Sorry, it just slipped my mind what I was about to say. How could someone like you be prejudiced against people of color. RE: Why do the ritors ask for Justice?

The guy probably thought he was just going to get a ticket. At any rate, he did exactly what he was instructed to do. You don't see anything wrong this scenario? Yikes. The officer did NOT ask him to step him to step away from his vehicle, as is protocol when dealing with an actual suspect. THEN the officer proceeded to ask "Can I see your license, please?". The man simply went to retrieve his license as the officer requested; He complied. This guy wasn't being arrested or questioned as a suspect for an actual crime. He was asked to produce documentation for ticketable offense. "Dove" is a word the officer chose to use, because he knew he'd fucked up. He was grasping at straws at that point. Trooper Sean Groubert's statement to his supervisor: Quote:"I pulled him over for a seat-belt violation," Groubert said. "Before I could even get out of my car, he jumped out, stared at me, and as I jumped out of my car and identified myself as I approached him, he jumped head-first back into his car. I started retracting back towards the rear of his vehicle telling him, 'Look, get out of the car. Let me see your hands.' He jumped out of the car. I saw something black in his hands. I ran to the other side of the car yelling at him, and he kept coming towards me. Apparently, it was his wallet."http://www.wistv.com/story/26640394/offi...d-shooting Police officers don't lie, though. Right? RE: Why do the ritors ask for Justice?

There's always someone who beats the odds. And it's not about black and white for once but about general chances in life and luck coming into play at some point. Or not, which is the case with most people. Otherwise we would all be one happy wealthy family. (September 24, 2016 at 4:19 pm)Thena323 Wrote: Sure. That's a fair statement to make. You are right. but... If this were just a matter of race then black cops would not be shooting black suspects. However it is black officers who shoot blacks suspects are a far greater ratio than white cops. Put all the numbers aside and if you were to go out and ride along with a cop or put on a badge yourself you would see why. It maybe wrong to say black people tend to fight cops more, but it is grounded in truth. If you were punched hit or kicked by a certain segment of the population almost everytime you had to confront them would you treat them any differently? Truth is i would. Why? I am not a stupid person and I want to make sure I go home to my family every night, and if that means i make a mistake and offend a few people, then f-them. Better them to have hurt feelings then me be shot or worse! Quote:That has the potential to seriously affect an officer's ability to assess a situation and make judgement calls. Particularly when combined with one or more of the following: General disdain for entire subgroup of people, an authoritarian personality, or an itchy trigger finger. These are completely unfair assessments. Did you know a psych eval is performed for all potential recruits and each and everytime an officer's integrity is questioned? some departments even have their guys checked out one a year... So To say a citizen that wants and subsequently allowed to be a police officer (as a matter of policy or lack there of) is allowed to just willie nilly work out his anger and agression on the population at his personal descression, is a plot to a bad cop movie, and does not reflect they nature of the police departments nor the desire/reason people become cops. This may have been a problem in the 1960's but we have grown alot since then. Again I do know that your words mirror perception of most people looking to be victims of unfair _________ (fill in the blank) My question is, if this is the popular view, then doesn't that add to how police encounters are push on the cilivian side? doesn't this put a chip on the shoulder of everyone who thinks themselves a victim? I worked in the inner city of Orlando for 10 years, and what this usually means is a white or Hispanic looking male driving slow in black/government housing project dropping off black kids after dark or leaving a government project after dark. Know it or not this = at least 50 if not more times I have been pulled over. by the county or by the city. Some cops are ass holes, I've had gun drawn on me more than once. I had a gun on me more than once. Never once was i shot, or even come close. (except when they thought I was the DC sniper) Why? because of what i shared. i simply know the rules of engagement and if a cop in the least little way cares about his job, he plays by those rules. I have even gotten in 'MF-ing' shouting matches but like here never once crossed the line. Again give the cop the upper hand/SUBMIT right off even if they want to cuff you then allow them to deescalate on their terms, and you will find they are people looking to do a job. Quote:That's kind of my point. When a cop's already already pre-determined that a person is a dumb, violent animal, almost anything they say or do can be interpreted as an act of aggression. So Submit.. The problem here is the black community at large is raised to believe they must be alpha males all the time. The want to dominate and be in control, which is in direct violation of every cops mandate on the street. So rather than yield (like chris rock comically shows as a way to diffuse a tense situation) they confront as is the alpha male's job.. Which again the cop's job is to be one step ahead of the escalation process to which they will shoot you before you shoot them. The only way to not get shot is to submit/yeild or to ambush the cop essentially be at the point where you are ready to kill him before he feels he needs to shoot you. You are not going to out alpha a cop. Ask yourself as to why they are doing and what they can do to improve the situation just like other immigrants i.e. Chinese, Italians, Jews, German, Korean, English, Indian, Pakistani, Vietnamian have done. You don't get anything for sitting on your arse all day, work hard, and you get the reward, do nothing, you get stereotyped. I love this article of a first generation Korean family who succeeded in spite of the language barrier. Not bad eh::: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-12888908 They could have used the language barrier, racism or the colour of their skin to complain but no, they worked hard and it got them places. You may remember this first generation Korean who went to the USA and he virtually had no money left until he decided to share his culture with the American people: You may have also recognised him in this film as the trainer of the Korean team: (September 24, 2016 at 5:07 pm)abaris Wrote:(September 24, 2016 at 4:43 pm)Drich Wrote: Dude was not in compliance with the cops, and was moving in a threatening manner which is why he was tazed, and subsequently why he was shot. Dude again, @ 12 when I was given instructions to shoot 3 men if my dad shot, the only thing going through my mind was wait for the shot, wait for the shot first you, then you, then the fat guy, wait for the shot, wait for the shoot, first you, then you, then the fat guy.... I had to go over my orders of engaugement over and over and over, because my instint was to run, but I needed to be there backing my dad. So I stuck with what I was told to do. If anyone had shot i would have at least tried to kill 3 guys in the right order. would have probably stopped after than and ran. Likewise this woman went over her orders of engagement over and over in her mind. (there is room for nothing else) The man was a threat right off because her training told her he was high on a drug that could give him a temporary immunity to bullets and superhuman strength. so yeah she was probable crapping her pants. Then dude would not comply that is one of the order of engagement satisfied, then dudes hand went to his pocket, second order satisfied she is probably thinking I am in the clear to shoot this guy now, better wait to see the gun then BANG (the guy standing next to her discharges a tazer) and before she can think she squeezed off a round. Why because her mental saftys have been released because of this moron's actions leading upto that point. Again as far as whether or not she was right or wrong that is for a jury/JUSTICE to decide not me. |
