The thing is that I never agreed to such an agreement. My parents had water sprinkled on my head when I was just days old. But with or without that, it's not right or just for any sort of being to say, "Follow my rules or I'll torture you forever, and there's no way out of this choice."
And Christians believe in free will.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

In my case (Methodist) during my baptism, I was informed my parents made some promises on how I was to be raised. Like going to church for instruction.
My folks took the promise part pretty seriously. It was a mixed blessing, the church lady type Sunday school teachers did instill some attitudes about the proper conduct of religion in me which Christers who wander into AF these days certainly find alien and disquieting, something I find hysterical, BTW.
But it was a huge pain in the butt getting up early on Sundays, dressing in the Sunday best outfits and sitting thru Sunday school and then the service afterwards. We attended a church some distance away, so the whole morning was shot. We went rain or shine, snow or plague of locusts.

You know, I actually did my own little dissection of this tract, and have a copy on my hard drive. I'd post it, but the last time I tried, there was a limit to the number of images that I could put in a single post, and it was a hell of a lot less than a Tract Dissection needs. Maybe later, I'll split it into thirds and post it bit by bit.

Interesting, ain't it, the Chick tract with the darkest reputation is devoid of heresy ??

Wondering if we get to the point some biblists might want to suppress their bible for reasons quite similar to why the Lisa tract was suppressed.
Gee, maybe the Lisa tract is a little more potent and far reaching in it's effects than we might have supposed ??

On top of the horror of multiple gang-rape before the age of 10, where the primary torturer was her FATHER, she has no where else to turn. Because her Mother is abusing her as well. It would take years of careful, gentle family therapy with the Mother to repair that relationship, and years of therapy to work through her horror, pain, and betrayal of the rapes. No amount of therapy could ever justify putting her in the same room with her monster father again. And you say this is nothing??? Just how huge of an amoral asshole are you?
It's called a work of fiction...
You act as if Chick is condoning child abuse. The whole point of the story is to speak to an abuser and maybe get him to stop what he's doing. I like how you guys sit on the sideline and criticize, but tell me what exactly you're doing to try and solve the problem?
I might add that you were the one celebrating over the guys death, so you have no business trying to get on any moral high horse.

Amoral asshole indeed...
Yes, he was condoning child abuse. In his little works of fiction, there were dozens of these instances. Men who beat and raped children, their wives, girlfriends, etc., and they got on their knees and whined at the ceiling and then everything was fine. There is never any compassion of any kind shown to the victims of these "new christians". Never any justice or legal action for the perpetrators. - Only the celebration that god will now NOT send them to hell. And these little sick, twisted, damaging immoral little works of fiction have spread all over the globe. It's absolutely impossible to figure out how many people have been damaged by his so-called "ministry".
I don't claim to be a saint. But at least I have some concern for victims of abuse, and disgust over a work of fiction that depicts a little girl as a thing - something less-than-human, to be abused with impunity. It is impossible to be a sane human being and defend this repulsive work of fiction. And I'm still glad that he is no longer around to create more of these horrors. If that makes me immoral in your estimation, then I'll consider it a compliment.

There was a guy I used to work with who used to leave these little comics laying all around the workplace, hoping people would read them.
Very bizarre. I have a very hard time understanding the mentality of the people who read this type of shit, and agree with it.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. I suppose one could say the same about a satanist.
