I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?
RE: I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?
I don't know much about Christianty, but I was surprised to find out that the Catholic church thinks that it's rule book supersedes the babble. The catechism. Am I correct on that?

If so, then how can it be considered Christianity? Or can you make the same argument about Protestants because they base their religion on modern rewritings of the Bible? Or if you are both Christians then why not Mormons too?

If he is, one of you is low on ammunition.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Fact Catechism supersedes the babble.

Fact Catechism does not supersede the Bible, because the bible is the word of God. Mormonism teaches that God used to be a man on another world God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine by Bruce McConkie, p. 321) which contradicts the bible.

Dear atheist colleagues here and whoever else here, thanks a lot for your presence and contribution.

Now, dear Edward, you are really like a draft of fresh air in this thread of mine, thanks!

Have you noticed that I have not been reprehended by the powers that be in this thread?

The fact is that atheist colleagues will not come up with their information on the concept of God that makes sense in this issue of God existing or not, and it is as I have formulated it in step one of my proof for God existing, see ANNEX 2.

And logically they should accept my information on the concept as I am a theist and I know for a certainty that God exists, based on my thinking on truths, facts, logic, and the history of ideas; but they atheists will not accept my information of the concept of God existing, namely, in concept God is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning - why?

Elementary: they know that once they have expressed their concurrence, mind you just concurrence on the information of the concept of God from me a theist, though a liberal protestant, they know they are doomed, they have already lost the debate: because from the information of the concept of God, I will bring them to the objective reality of existence outside our mind, to search for all instances of causation, starting with our causation by our parents to come to existence and life, to the fact that all such instances of causation and many other instances of causation in the animate as also in the inanimate world, they are all EVIDENCE of an entity that corresponds to the information of the concept of God from me, namely, in concept God is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

As I will not budge from my step one, on my information of the concept of God, namely, God is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning, and they will not concur on that information, mind you just the information - though they should, otherwise there is no joining of the issue, God exists or not, they just engage themselves in evading altogether in effect from the very issue of the debate, God exists or not.

That explains why they will do anything and everything to tire me out and make me leave this thread or better exit from Atheistforums.org, including throwing fu** and sh** from their mouths against me, and even complaining to the powers that be in this forum.

In my latest proposal to them to just ask me and I ask them also, just one question but not phrased over 30 words, they know again that I want them to come forth with their information on their concept of God, as they will not concur on my information of the concept of God, namely, in concept God is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning: because they know they are doomed, they have lost the debate, namely, once they present a decent information on the concept of God.

It is like I am a tour operator, promising to bring atheists to the certainty of God existing, but atheists will not want to join in the tour by taking the bus trip with me in the driver’s seat, because they know that I will certainly bring them to the irrefutable existence of God, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

You see, dear Edward, there are atheists here who bring forth their information on the concept of God, but they are not decent information at all, but flippant ridiculous portrayals of God.

What about you, Edward, do you have at all any information of the concept of God, but no not any ridiculous analogical portrayals all just into blasphemies on God, not God in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning – and mind you, this information is the core substance of all theists, be they orthodox Jews, Christians, or Muslims, in their definitions of God.

Are you playing mind games now?

Apart from the Bible, we also have the support of archaeology, science, history, literature, and human experience that there is a God.  The real question is whether or not a person is open to this evidence. Geniuses of history have been believers, and geniuses of history have been atheists. There is more to the question “is there a God?” than purely intellectual concerns. Ultimately, how a person attempts to answer the question “is there a God?” strongly reflects the answer he or she prefers. For example one might reject God in order to do what he wants e.g watch pornography etc.

I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?

This is my proof for God existing.

1. Formulate the information of the concept of God, thus:
"God in concept is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning."

2. Look for instances of causation in reality outside of concepts in our mind.

3. We find countless examples of causation in reality outside of concepts in our mind.

4. From the countless instances of causation in reality, we infer to the existence of a first and ultimate cause.

5. We find that the first and ultimate cause of all instances of causation in reality corresponds to our information on the concept of God, namely, the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

6. Conclusion: God exists in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

What do you think about my proof for the existence of God?

Why would I run from my own theistic team? Although we may disagree in terms of what doctrine. When in comes to belief in God we are one.

It is not up to us to come up with a concept of a god, then prove it does not exist. It is up to you to define your god, then provide evidence for its existence.

If you are able to convince us, then we would no longer be atheists.

We are still waiting.....

Your definition is pretty vague, but acceptable.

Your 'proof' does not lead to your conclusion, due to the many fallacies that have been previously pointed out by many here, which you have failed to address.

Quote:logic

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I say this because several times now, you have admonished me for being too hung up on finding fallacies. But if you knew what the word meant, you would know, that if an argument, your 'proof' for example, contains fallacies, it is a logically invalid argument.

It might behoove you to read a book on basic logic. You will see that they all will have chapters on fallacies.

I accept that you are making an assertion that such a god exists. I just do not accept that you have met your burden of proof to support my belief in said god.

Why, you ask?

Because you have offered no demonstrable and falsifiable evidence. All you have offered is a flawed and fallacious 'proof'.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
