Before the inauguration "fake news" was used to accurately describe a load of disreputable news websites that disseminated false stories. Now Trump has tried to seize "fake news" as a buzz word for any reputable news outlet that reports facts that he doesn't like or doesn't want known to the public.

That's right and the trumpites have turned it into a weapon against the heretics who question there beloved messiah

If this EO proves to be successful then maybe Trump will issue another one to bar aliens from the South. That could eliminate the cost of building The Wall.

"Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel, 1904-1991) was a life-long cartoonist: in high school in Springfield, Massachusetts; in college at Dartmouth (Class of 1925); as an adman in New York City before World War II; in his many children's books, beginning with To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street (1937). Because of the fame of his children's books (and because we often misunderstand these books) and because his political cartoons have remained largely unknown, we do not think of Dr. Seuss as a political cartoonist. But for two years, 1941-1943, he was the chief editorial cartoonist for the New York newspaper PM (1940-1948), and for that journal he drew over 400 editorial cartoons." This video may be able to explain the EO to the Trump haters but it will probably go right over their heads.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNu4xU9qOEM It has a good scene of the dummy snow flake Schumer crying like a baby. It's fun to watch just for that. For example in Syria the pop. is 15% Christian, in Iran 5%. So once again, Trump is offering "alternative facts." Also, it has been pointed out on NPR that no one from these countries has been responsible for any deaths in the U.S for the past 20 years, while people from countries left off the list, Saudi Arabia and Egypt (just 2 examples) were. I don't think it is a coincidence that all the countries left off the list have Trump hotels, resorts and/or golf courses. Trump probably doesn't want to anger those countries' leaders. They may make such a fuss that no one will go to them, or cause red-tape delays of properties in construction. Or they could even seize the properties threatening to hold them until Trump changes tactics. I was reading some comments about this and lots of people are now calling Trump "Agent Orange." I have much harsher names for him.
“The problem with those who choose received Authority over fact and logic is how they choose which part of Authority to obey. The Bible famously contradicts itself at many points (I have never understood why any Christian would choose the Old Testament over the New), and the Koran can be read as a wonderfully compassionate and humanistic document. Which suggests that the problem of fundamentalism lies not with authority, but with ourselves.” ~Molly Ivins
"Consider, for instance, that since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, Americans have been no more likely to die at the hands of terrorists than being crushed to death by unstable televisions and furniture."
~ http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/10/23...e-no-ideas This ban stems from a flawed premise to begin with. Nothing in this EO has the long term effect of securing our borders from terrorists. It's just a laughable gaff from a simpleton president. |
