Fortunately, the US protects the assholes who try to forfeit their lives in such a manner. I guess that makes us susceptible, somehow facilitating that upward transfer of wealth by ensuring through force of law that the only pressing consequence for doing so or attempting to do so is the hatred of all the poors you won't be socializing with anyway.
