To me as an outsider (and basically the whole world except America) sees the gun control issue as an unstoppable vicious cycle.
The last person will only feel safe and give up his weapon when the second last person has died.
It isn't because our system cant work, it is because we've had an imbalance of power for 36 years.
The principle of anti trust and anti monopoly do work when enforced. Unfortunately we are being drug back to the same conditions that led to the Great Depression.
Obama was simply a delay, he was a great president, but couldn't do shit considering the obstruction from the right. On the issue of reducing gun violence, we haven't been able to do anything effective since Reagan and Brady got shot.
Far too many forget that guns are simply another product sold, they get stuck on utopia ideology as if guns were a holy book themselves. FOLLOW THE MONEY, if you want to know where the corruption is.
Even outside the issue of guns in America, globally speaking, violence is profitable. War requires funding in a global economy and weapons are a global industry. It is a myth that monsters like Stalin and Hitler banned the private sector. Nope, all they did was concentrate the private market to their loyalists.
Firearm CEOs are concerned with the same thing that any other CEO is concerned with, profits, shareholders and expanding their market.
Firearm companies hate laws just like the car companies hated Nader telling them their products suck.
None of what the companies market, nor their profit lobby NRA leaders are about ideology or protecting freedom, they are about PROFITS.
Even outside guns, all products get marketed through either vanity or fear.
Vanity, "This is fun"
Fear, "You cant live without this".
Unfortunately most GLOBAL marketing is about profit, not problem solving. The worst part of that is it speeds up the pace of consumption which is great for short term gain, but it causes pollution, increases competition to the point of conflict over resources.

Don't use the same entrance at the same times. Those guns didn't arrive in crates marked "Murder Weapons R Us".
As for the employees, it doesn't take long before guests are just things you have to work around to get your job done.
No fucking shit......
Same fucking crap with JFK conspiracy nuts.
Oswald, "Damn, you got me, I didn't act alone and all the investigators were lying."
9/11, "Yes 10s of thousands of law agents were all lying and the Jews planted explosives in the towers, and the media faked the planes slamming into the buildings".
If you are bringing in one case at a time, and even using a different entrance each time over a few hours that will not raise red flags.
I am just waiting for World Nut Daily to claim that Jimmy Hoffa and space aliens were behind the Vegas shooting.
