I didn't have time to watch the video....

Do they have new facts concerning the evolution of the eye;  or did they just shine up some old "just so" stories?
My favorite part of the old show, was when with some nifty slight of hand, they pull some lenses, some cones, and other stuff out of thin air (abracadabra style) when they think no one is looking.  I'm always curious if this is the case, then why don't we see this kind of stuff popping up all over the place? It seems only to be where and when needed (which doesn't sound very random or unintentional to me).

To my great surprise I find myself intrigued by one of your posts. Could you give me a link or some sort of a clue as to what you're talking about.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

My favorite part is how you guys would have to actually witness the evolution of the human eye from start to finish with your own two in order to satisfy your incredulity of the process, yet you'll accept the claim that a person came back from the dead based on nothing but a book of magic stories written by unverifiable sources two-thousand years ago.  This hypocrisy is unmatched.

I mean, if we just said, 'God did evolution with his inexplicable god-powers,' instead of, ya know, learning about it via evidence and observation, would that make it more palatable to you? Because, that seems to be a perfectly satisfactory explaination for all your other beliefs.

Very well said. I've stopped counting the number of times creationists demand step by step absolute proof for evolution, but will not even address the question of how their god/designer/whatever did the job other than to throw up red herrings.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Here's a fun exercise, credit goes to GC for the idea.  Let's do a little biblical taxonomy.

What "kind" do the following belong to;

1.   Tiger
2.   St. Augustine Grass
3.   Mouse
4.   Tobacco
5.   Wolf
6.   Psilocybe Cubensis
7.   Great White Shark
8.   Bacillus Thuringiensis
9.   Live Oak
10. Potato
11. Orangutan
12. Hyena
13. Mackeral
14. Housecat
15. Corn
16. Beagle
17. Humans
18. Stingray
19. Fruit Bat
20. Eggplant
21. Lemur
22. Mycobacterium Avium
23. Agaricus Bisporus
24. Chestnut
25. Horsetail Fern

I think that's a good number for comparison, without going too long.  We could get a better idea of just what a "kind" is from the classification of the organisms above.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Creationist:  "Oh, the human eye evolved?  Yeah, like that's believable.  *eye roll*  We all know that a timeless, spaceless, changeless, eternal, conscious being designed and manufactured them, and placed them into our heads fully formed!  How, you ask?  Well...you can't prove abiogenesis!  *runs*

In fairness, most believers assume the mantle and language of evolutionary biology...even -they- don't believe the creation story anymore.  They just can't seem to let go of the main character. They're stuck in the middle, wrong by reference to their own magic book and by reference to the theory they wish to adopt for being more palatable to their modern, secularized, minds.

Plus they're afraid of what would happen if they came out as non-theistic. It's part of the system here, and people will believe other people who claim to be religious based solely on that claim. Saves time and you're not "different".

Antony Flew appears to have "deconverted" too quickly; too bad he's dead, and with him, his once-proud legacy.

Too bad none of those people are participating in this discussion, lol.

To be honest, I'm just planning on posting these questions next time he comes up with the same shit in another thread. It cuts to the chase and means I don't have to repeat myself. That's what religionists do though. When they lose the argument, they throw a huff and claim the other person is being childish or vulgar, then wait until the subject comes up again on another thread and repeat the process. I really don't know how religionists can have any sense of integrity, or whether they know that they are lying for Jebus and don't care. Or maybe they deliberately forget. Either way, I like to remind them.
