Why is this guy attacking leftists over a straw? No one said that gay people can't be economically conservative. A gay person who is only economically conservative is not seen as a self-hating gay person AFAIK.

But if you're gay and you happen to be (for example) against same sex marriage as well, that's where the argument that you're self-hating probably comes into play, and I don't think it's so unreasonable.

What does he mean by the 'need for a strong military'? We had the most powerful military in the world, ever, by far, and recently we expanded on that. How strong is strong enough? Strong enough to win WW III by ourselves?

So?  I know a bunch of conservative gays.  Some of them even voted for Trump.  (Yes, I worried about their sanity, but hey, it's their choice.)  Your point?

It's just a goal post to be moved later on. We could give them everything they desire as far as weapons and aircraft, and a few months later we would still "need to beef up our military."

When will this military shit end?

It's peculiar to me that gay men and women who were previously left leaning suddenly became conservative when the courts FORCED conservatives to accept same sex marriage. Like, you think the party fundamentally changed? Discrimination based on sexual orientation is still a problem, obviously. And I don't think it's Republicans who want to see an end to it.

At the same time, assuming a gay person should make their sexuality a higher priority over their broader political philosophy is a bit.... not really sure what word to use. But it's making the individual into just a member of a group. Which I don't like.

Believable, but if you can find me a heterosexual liberal, I'd be impressed.
