Not to mention the fact that every place of employment where I have worked here in Florida has a legal mention in its handbook that discrimination against one's sexual preference is wrong.

Same argument was made against interracial marriage. Same argument was made against desegregation in the military. Same argument was made against gays in the military. 

This is old bullshit Jim Crow bigotry aimed at a new target.

Sadly he is right.  There is no federal statute on sexual orientation.  The SC has upheld or struck down state laws in certain cases and in the gay marriage case struck down the section of the Defense of Marriage Act for violations of the 14th Amendment.  The conservatards on the court dissented vigorously... as one would expect from those tards.
