RE: Alex Jones and Infowars gets 'disappeared' - are we headed in the right direction?

Here's another example - this time involving the cops. Here's a racist police recruit in Kentucky....( I would have thought that would be a job requirement in Kentucky!) who got fired for running his mouth.... but not thrown in jail.

I don't watch his shit in detail, so I don't know how much hate speech he does. The complaints people have seem to do with the lack of transparency and examples given, although I would guess there's more going on behind the scenes that they don't want to publically air.
If he's inciting hatred and/or violence, then I fully support pulling his channels just based on that.
I thought it was the defamatory speech. I think the First Amendment of the US constitution protects hate speech but not defamatory speech. Nevertheless, Facebook is a private company and can therefore choose what speech is allows on its website. If they don't want Alex Jones on their website then it may not be a First Amendment issue.

I've heard, alllegedly, on twitter, not that I believe it, but just for the good of public discussion, that @ Jack was responsible for the Sandy Hook massacre.
Again, totally not claiming that's what happened, but isn't it worth discussing what the MSM won't acknowledge?
So, so, allegedly here. Retweet if you can.. in the interests of freedom of speech.
Clearly, Alex Jones has the dirt on @ Jack, which is why twitter is the lone mega social media outlet not to ban alex jones.
It's time for @ Jack to come clean!!1!1!

Hmm, it seems he narrowly avoided a ban there too by deleting a load of tweets. Hopefully this means he's going to behave himself in future, on Twitter at least.

Quote:InfoWars reporter tries to ‘fact check’ claim that Facebook is a private company — and gets utterly humiliated
Quote:InfoWars reporter Millie Weaver on Tuesday publicly humiliated herself by botching the basic terminology of economics journalism to try to claim Facebook is a public utility.
After Facebook axed Jones’ Facebook page this week, Weaver and other InfoWars supporters have tried to claim that this amounts to an unconstitutional violation of the website’s free speech.
The flaw in this argument is that Facebook is a privately run company that can make decisions about whether to give individual media outlets a platform — and the Constitution clearly states only that the government cannot do anything to restrict free speech.
Apparently you have to be an idiot to work at Infowars.
Evidently, it's required criteria for employment.

Free speech means the government can not throw his sleazy ass in jail for what he says.
If you call your boss a "motherfucker" don't be surprised if you get fired. But by all means let the ACLU know if you get thrown in jail by some cop for it.
But when the first amendment was drafted, the internet didn't exist and private corporations didn't control so much of our speech. The idea, that you of all people are standing up for the rights of billionaires to censor whoever they want is mind boggling.
People only use this argument when it's speech they don't like to see being censored. When it's someone they like, they cry censorship. Typical partisan hypocricy.
It also doesn't matter. It'll only make Alex Jones more popular.

THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE is why I am so consistently vocal about the orange fuckface. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
We've had in our past white nationalism infect our law enforcement, our judges and our jury system. We had a past where our law allowed lynchings with impunity.
People in any public office, are not private citizens. The cannot use their speech in the same way a non office holder can. I am sick of this bullshit from libertarians and GOP that if you demand office holders stick to policy that somehow things like South Park or Dave Shapel are in danger.
When politics involves politicians who vilify just to deflect to keep power, it is not about free speech, it is about selling fear to keep power.
We have seen that script before, and it never ends well.
