Should the Catholics open their records in all states? Should all states start investigating the Catholics?

And the statute of limitations should be extended in situations like this. These assailants used the social stature of their place within a religious hierarchy to commit and cover up assaults against minors. The nature of the crimes demands a focused, unfettered investigation, and harsh punishment for those found guilty of committing them. Priests, especially, due to the soft power of their social status/reach/influence, need to be held to a higher standard. Any standard at all would be a good first step.
